Went here as a family meal with a young child. The staff were very accommodating from when we booked the table, giving us a choice of where to sit, to when we sat down for our meal. The food was really good, with the fresh fish a must have! Prices were reasonable and at the end of our meal we were given complimentary after dinner drinks! The ambience of the restaurant was very welcoming fitting in with the Italian background of the owners. This place is really worth a visit!

We took advantage of a Living Social's offer and visited this restaurant for the first time, despite living in Poole since 1979, but although it was our first visit it certainly won't be the last.
The staff were very friendly and the menu extensive. I chose a seafood risotto for my main course and it was simply fantastic.....I have never seem such a variety of seafood in a dish of this type.
We throughly enjoyed our evening and look forward to a return visit.

We have now been to Da Vinci's 4 times as we love the characterful ambience, the friendly service of the staff but mainly the delicious food. The outside looks a bit drab but the warm welcome inside makes up for it. The decor is not modern but go somewhere else if you want a standard scheme - this is unique and we love it.

I booked a table in person on Tuesday for 8.30pm on Thursday 31st July (Fireworks on the Quay Night). We arrived at the restaurant at 8.25pm to find a queue at the door. I walked past the queue and gave my name to the manager (grey hair and beard) He did not check my booking, he just said "nearly ready and pointed to the bar and suggested we had a drink, which we did. By 8.50pm I had not seen this man again or been approached by any other member of staff or even shown a menu! I had to get up and ask someone at the front what was happening. Nobody appeared to have any knowledge about us and no idea we were waiting for our table despite there being empty tables available. It appeared that there had been no communication between the manager and staff and by this time I was not a happy bunny!
I accept that the restaurant was busy due to it being Fireworks on the Quay night but the restaurant appeared to have taken our booking with profit in mind rather than our customer experience. They should either have warned us at the time of booking that it was a flexible arrangement or made sure that a table was available for us at 8.30pm!
After attempting to sit us down in the bar and lay a table in a totally inappropriate place, were were shown to a proper table at the front down stairs in this two level restaurant. The staff who then looked after us were more than helpful apologising for the situation and taking our order. The starters were very nice with a delicious Arancini Montalbano and a less tasty Funghi All Aglio. Our mains were Papa Spaghetti with veal meatballs which was nice but not great and a Linguine Sugo ,which was very good!
This restaurant is not cheap, £60 for two courses for two people, with wine and we were disappointed to find the toilets dirty and in a poor state of repair. Even the toilet entrance door visible from the restaurant, was clearly dirty and looked like it had not been cleaned for a long while.
We may try this restaurant again due to the enjoyable food and the staff that went out of their way to rectify a very poor initial experience, however if it is not good next time it will be the last. The man who we first saw that night (grey hair with beard) did reappear at about 9.50pm, not sure where he had been for 75 minutes?

Thursday summer evenings on Poole Quay are busy with the fireworks at 10.00 pm. We booked for 8.30 to enjoy a meal and the spectacle. The staff were charming and the food excellent. The place was very busy which meant that our food arrived somewhat late but was absolutely fabulous and with generous portions. To avoid our missing the fireworks, the proprietor allowed us to leave the restaurant and come back later to finish the meal, very trusting.
As Italian restaurants go in the area, this has to be one of the best and far more authentic than others which seem to be "rated" higher in the Tripadvisor list.
A very enjoyable evening and we shall certainly be back.
