Lovely seaside town with a good selection of waterfront shops, pubs and restaurants. The council do especially well with evening activities such as fireworks on a Thursday and a variety of themed motor meets for cars and motorcycles. The harbour is busy with pleasure and fishing boats and there is a good selection of boat day trips.
The old lifeboat house has a museum and retired life boat and on the adjacent quay our boys enjoyed catch crabs.
Plenty of activities to keep a family busy for at least a day.

Poole harbour is beautiful (as long as it's sunny) but on a rainy day it's pretty decent too. Lots of yachts and boats moored. Plenty of restaurants and bars along the quay.

I've been coming here over 40 years early morning and evening sunsets very special .pretty unique Sandbanks beach some of the best quality sand n sea from anywhere in the world .Nice to have toilets and showers to remove sand after day on the beach lifeguard provided also..from Poole quay you can have scenic boat trips around the harbour Brownsea Island good selection of eateries .only downside is parking you need to get here to Sandbanks early at weekends. Visited here 3 times now. Not usually very keen on English holiday resorts but Poole is fantastic. Clean. Lively. Safe

There is so much to see and do. For example the zillion pound yacht belonging to owner of force India F1 team

Hope the building of the new cruise terminal won't spoil Poole

Fireworks on Thursday night great

Clean surroundings. Not busy for a Saturday pleasant walk along the harbour and average prices for ice creams. Parked for free in one of the side roads, 15 min walk from Sandbanks.
