Sue and her husband are always on hand should you need them but are never intrusive.

Nothing seems to be too much trouble and lots of details have been thought of that most cottages seem to forget about.

The self catering facilities were beyond expectation.

Very happy to recommend for a relaxing stay in beautiful countyside on a working farm.

We stayed in the Stable over Christmas with our grown up daughter and one Grandmother. It is the first time we have been to a self catering holiday where the owners have thought of EVERYTHING and it's all provided. No need for us to pop out to the shops for all the bits and pieces that you always have at home but don't have when you are away. Sue and her husband couldn't have been more friendly or helpful. The cottage was ideal with two bedrooms and a lovely sitting room/dining room/kitchen all on one level with a bathroom with M2 mobility access (walk in shower). Grandmother was quite happy sitting in the window all day watching the birds and the Kunekune pigs. The cottage was very well kitted out and decorated and very cosy despite the miserable weather. All fixtures and fittings were of good quality, not the usual cheap contents often found in self catering lets. Sue even provided a Christmas tree and had decorated for our arrival and left us a bottle of Cava and some chocolates to kick Christmas off in style! A perfect base for County Durham and the North East.

We really enjoyed this break we stayed for a fortnight, the first week was stable cottage the second we were in the hayloft.
Very friendly owners made this a real home from home, on a bus route to Darlington that runs every half hour.
Great base, lots of home comforts really enjoyed our stay the variety of farm animals and country walks ment we never got bored.

We stayed in the Stable Cottage at East Greystone Farm. The accomodation was clean and comfortable but what really stood out was the warm and friendly welcome from the owners. The welcome hamper of homemade bread, milk, butter (mini eggs) and homemade hot cross buns was lovely. We were encouraged to look around the farm and my daughter loved the cows and little calf. The only slight down side was that the Stable Cottage doesn't have a bath but we were aware of that when we booked so it was no surprise. Nothing was too much trouble for Sue and her husband so I can highly recommend a stay at East Greystone Farm.
