We decided to return since our first visit last June. We can only confirm that this is really a very fine place to dine. The Michelin star is more than deserved. Very light tasteful dishes combine premium ingredients and original preparation ideas. All served in a elegant but casual style.
Relaxed atmosphere and tasteful but simple decor add to the great dining experience.
Just excellent and very pleasant.

Tremendous.
The tasting menu was hands down one of the best I have tasted.
Will definitely visit again.

This was undoubtedly the tastiest meal we've eaten in a British restaurant. From the amuse bouche of perfectly seasoned fried cod skin, served on a fish skeleton 'toast rack' through to the Rosemary chocolate with artisan coffee at the end, every one of the taster courses was a delight. Particular standouts were the razor clam and the imaginative use of artichoke. We were also impressed that the desserts were every bit as tasty as the main courses.
Service was discreet and as efficient as you would expect from a great restaurant.
The sommelier was very friendly and the wine choices went very well with the meal. We can't cope with a full wine pairing and were pleased to be allowed to split the pairing between us.

The passion of the family and their entirely justified pride in James shone through the whole experience.

Highly recommended, we shall be back.

Lunch at this hidden gem was very special.

The scene was set with some roasted cod skin in saffron aioli on the table as we sat down and things just kept getting better and better.

We took the tasting menu and the flavours and textures offered were superb. Highlights included a quite wonderful eel and foie gras starter with beetroot meringue and cherry foam and a stunning chocolate log with popcorn ice-cream. In between, amongst other dishes, we had delicious pigeon and perfect lamb.

Wine list was unusual and avoided the name dropping lists that you can see elsewhere, focusing instead on hidden and unusual gems. We had the matching flight that went with the tasting menu and apart from one that we saw as a slight mismatch to the dish on offer, they were impeccable.

Service was friendly and not at all intimidating as in can be in some other Michelin starred restaurants. The dining room itself reflected the relaxed ambience of the experience, but the food shone out above all.

Highly recommended.

Stayed for two nights at the Raby Hunt and whilst the first night dinner from the a la carte menu was OK it was not as memorable as we had hoped.

The second night however was a totally different experience, every single course was a delight. It is obvious the kitchen put their heart and soul into preparing this amazing meal, I cannot recommend it enough.

The staff were friendly and efficient despite the second night being absolutely packed - they coped magnificently and never skipped a beat.

A wonderful gem of a restaurant.
