Stayed here with family members in a few different rooms.
Rooms were simple but clean, tidy and comfortable.
No noise from airport.
breakfast was excellent.
It is like many reviews have pointed out an ex RAF Officers mess and has retained alot of the character since it's days has Goosepool !!

Former officers mess on WWII airport, and has a wartime theme. Apparently owned by the operators of the adjacent airport - which caused no noise even though my room faced it.
Decoration tired - tears in wallpaper where luggage had rubbed it. Mould and gaps in some of the tile grouting around the bath, which could be sorted out quickly. Rooms clean and comfortable. Large screen freeview TV, but pity that all the channels were not always available - sometimes only BBC..
Staff very friendly. The restaurant was not open some nights because there were not enough guests. The location is too far out of town to find an alternative, so there are only bar meals, with choices from a shortened restaurant menu. These were OK but limited in choice. Breakfast is a self-service buffet - OK, but there could be better sausages!
Fine for a couple of nights, but could get irritating if you are there longer and the restaurant remains closed.

The St George Hotel at Durham Tees Valley Airport, is a former Officers Mess once used by the Canadian Air Force when the airport was know as RAF Middleton St George. The current owners have managed to keep the historic life of this hotel allive by recreating plaques and room names of the squadrons who were based there. At the front of the hotel is a well kept memorial garden to those who served and paid the ultimate price. It was 20 years since my last stay, and I was impressed by the overal cleanliness of the place. The staff were freindly and polite and the food first class.

Room Tip: All rooms are basic, but are maintained to a very high standard of cleanliness. Each room has tea an...

Was booked into this hotel after The Devonport double booked us. In the e d in turned out really well for us. We had a lovely time in this old RAF officers mess. Quite basic accommodation but very comfortable and clean. Ate in the bar for evening meal and food was excellent. Breakfast self service and very good. Don't be put off that the hotel is located on airport. We suffered NO noise whatsoever. Would stay again. Thank you

The room was basic, and decorated in a pretty dated way, but seemed clean enough and was quiet enough. The food was a buffet and was very nice especially the breakfast. The bar was probably the nicest part of it with nice leather sofas and a pool table. The staff were mostly nice, but the guy behind the bar was a laugh a year type!

The room is old, paper coming off the walls, the chair has a huge rip in it, needs a good repaint. The bed is very uncomfortable with a big dip in the middle. Didn't eat in the hotel after reading bad reviews.
