“Outstanding!”
Reviewed 5 May 2014

For a pub thats in such a secluded area I was amazed at the not only quality but quantity of the food! I went today on the bank holiday for food from the normal menu and was amazed at the brilliance from such a small country pub. The service was brilliant. I have also been previously on a wednesday evening for the all you can eat buffet and for 8.95 it was fantasic. The choice of food was great from all three courses

“Don't bother”
Reviewed 3 May 2014

Just been for the Wednesday lunchtime carvery. Been many times in the past year for this mainly because they offered a free dessert, but unfortunately its all changed. The free dessert is no longer on offer and the carvery has changed significantly during the last couple of months (since the young chef) left. The food was very bland, no colour (all looked the same), the yorkshire puddings were cold, hardly received any meat and all in all not worth going back for. People were waiting in the restaurant for a member of staff to serve, I saw one couple keep going to the bar to ask for someone, but there was nobody there either. Finally after about 10 minutes, a member of staff turned up to serve them their very small portion of meat. It seems to me that they are concentrating far too much on the "all you can eat buffet" when they shouldn't be. Last year the place was full on a Wednesday lunch, now its practically empty. Will not be going back.

“'Lovely food'”
Reviewed 1 May 2014

Just returned from sampling the all you can eat buffet. We have visited the pub a number of times to have the Sunday lunch which is always lovely and hot and has plenty of veg to choose from. The buffet didn't disappoint either, lovely home cooked food with plenty of choice and everything nice and hot. Will definitely be returning. Well done to all the staff who run the pub!
