This feels like a new hotel, it's ultra modern inside, rooms are not huge but have high ceilings.
I get the impression it wasn't always a hotel.
To get to the top floor you take the lift to the 2nd walk along corridors then take another lift to the 4th.
The restaurant is on the 2nd, strange!
Only complaint was the AC from the shopping centre below was noisy

This was the first time that I had stayed at the Kings since its full refurbishment after its disasterous fire a few years ago. I was very impressed with all aspects of the stay right from arrival and the friendly welcome through the service and decor and state of the rooms. The breakfast was also a plus, the hot option being cooked to order rather than the usual tepid offerings that have stood around for hours congealing. Would recommend the experience for anyone wanting a reasonably priced central hotel in Darlington.

Modern and clean due to recently opening after a refurb, but rooms very very small as was the bed
No telephone socket to plug phone in !?
Receptionist on arrival very off hand
Lovey cocktail bar, but bar person didn't budge fom the bar to serve or clear even though we were the only customers in there
Menu ok, food not good
Pair of knickers found in wardrobe :-(
Whole hotel lacked ambience
Not sure if I'd use again

A great find! £50 a night on booking.com and with free secure parking, right on the high street too! Rooms are excellent. All new and modern to a high standard and very clean. Would stay again. Didn't book breakfast as we were off early. We got an early check in and the bar looked busy for afternoon tea. One downside was the pigeons annoyed me in the morning with their cooing but the hotel I couldn't fault.

This hotel is great. Rooms, reception, bar all facilities clean and bright.
Our room on the 4th floor was perfect all staff very helpful. Location is perfect and is very good value for money.
Receptionist Jordan very helpful and friendly.
All in all could not fault our stay.
I would only stay in this hotel if visiting Darlington.

Very nice place to stay, nice, smart rooms, bar, breakfast was outstanding. Good service. However did not get the superior room I paid for, was a standard, without the features i believed i would get. Nevermind.
