Clean room meeting requirements and expectations for an overnight stay. No real issues to complain of. Toby Carvery next door offering very good value breakfasts and other meals. Large car park on site.

We stopped off here on our way up to the Port of Tyne for a cruise as we live a 4 hour drive away. The reception staff were efficient, friendly and very welcoming, and the room was clean, fresh and comfortable. Just what we needed for an evening stop over. There's a McDonalds a short drive away which is 24h for when you arrive at midnight like we did, and a Toby Carvery in the same small complex which does a lovely all you can eat breakfast. The 24 hour check in is very helpful, and not having to check out too early in the morning is a bonus. Very happy with our stay and would return to the same place. Adequate for our needs and would have still been good had we wanted to stay for more nights.

Nice modern building with a good value toby carvery next door. Standard travelodge rooms, but all very new and therefore everything very clean and well decorated. Great value for money and would be happy to return.

It was a very nice travelodge, one which we had not stayed in before (though would stay again). It has very nice rooms and the bathrooms are different too, though you will have to stay there to find out why.Very friendly staff always willing to help.

Just stayed here for 3 nights whilst visiting family and will do so again. Most of the Travelodges I have stayed in have been grubby and dingy but not this one. It is bright, exceptionally clean and a pleasure to stay in. I think if I had one criticism it would be that the bathroom could have been bigger by making the bedroom smaller but it's only a minor thing. The staff are cheerful and very chatty.

Darlington town centre is a short 5 minute drive away with its shops etc.

There is a Toby restaurant on site which is very handy but the breakfast is not very hot. Separate review for that.

There is a busy road fronting the property, these rooms have a view to the distant hills but the road noise is quite bad.

I do suggest that Travelodge as a whole change their Internet policy from charging to free. In this day and age customers do not expect to pay for it especially as other hotel groups in their price range (Days Inn) offer it for free.

Room tip: If you want less road noise choose a room that overlooks the car park i.e. the entrance to the hotel.
