We stayed at this Premier Inn on Saturday night and feel compelled to write this review, the service was outstanding from the young chap on the front desk who was so friendly and helpful, to the staff serving breakfast in the morning.
The location is very convenient to the M1 but without any noise disturbance from the traffic, a perfect location for us whilst travelling to visit friends and family, shame we had never discovered it before but now this is going to be our first choice for all future trips.

We had the most delicious breakfast, it was without a doubt the best cooked breakfast I have ever tasted and there was an amazing array of other items to chose to eat from cereals, lovely fresh bread with an easy to use toaster, crumpets, croissants, yougurts, fresh fruit and granola, the list goes on.
The staff seemed to have an excellent rapport with each other and it came across as a lovely relaxing family atmosphere without being too much in your face, nothing was too much trouble for all the staff we came into contact with. I felt really relaxed and chilled out.

There is a lovely pub restaurant next door which has a homely atmosphere and again the service we received there was second to none, the food delicious and whilst it was very busy when we ate there, the service was brilliant and there was no delay in getting our meals.

All in all, the two premises make this a perfect spot to stop for trips anywhere needing excellent access to the M1

Just a quick one, stayed here for two nights and truly this place must be the cleanest hotel that I have ever stayed in. Felt compelled to pass my comments on to the staff and they were very proud of their hotel. Food next door was spot on and well priced. Well done to all, especially the housekeeping team..

We stayed here for a couple of nights while visiting family a couple of miles away. It gave us our own base and also meant that our hosts had time to themselves too. The location, near to an M1 junction, was not exactly romantic, but at £29 per room per night the Inn offered wonderful value for money. It was clean, comfortable and welcoming. The room was well equipped. The staff were friendly and helpful. (They were very happy to meet our request for a quiet room.) The breakfast room was very pleasant and clean and again, the waitresses were delightful and the food excellent and plentiful. The additional payment for breakfast was very reasonable. Unlike another major budget hotel chain, Premier Inns does not give the impression that that their sole interest is in stripping out 'unnecessary' costs wherever possible. Yes, they are efficient in what they do and offer, and have clearly positioned themselves in the market as a low cost chain, but they also seem very committed to a good visitor experience. Long may it continue.

At the end of an unpleasant, airless and disturbed night we found the breakfast staff helpful and very pleasant. The buffet was satisfactory but there were no healthy cereals - all sugared and salted. The 'cooked' option was basic in choice but well presented. Again, the Red Kite is justifiably popular, with welcoming staff and an extensive menu.

We stayed at the rear and found the room very small, stuffy, noisy and poorly equipped: tea and coffee for one,and no fridge. There was a large piece of equipment that might have been a fan or a heater, but there were no instructions or symbols. The mattress had seen far too many overweight occupants - the horrid 'rolling into the middle' had to be fought throughout the night. The height of the bed was extraordinary. It might suit the tall gentleman in the adverts who says the room is comfortable but it is ridiculous for those of lesser stature.

We could not ignore the high volume of traffic and competing room noises throughout the night. (I can only think that if the amplified speaker sounds are loud enough the traffic noise could be ignored.) Each room transmitted differing sounds - pop, rock, comedy, film....... Oh what a night!

There were large gaps under each door, adding to the sound and light pollution, and the curtains were too small to cut out invasive street lighting. The room had no heating on yet was very stuffy. Opening the window the tiny gap that was allowed let in even more road noise. There were no bed cover options - it was thick duvet or nothing. We were given a second small 'bath towel' and an extra shower mat. The little thin hand towel had to be shared. There was no shelving in the shower - the floor had to be used for all containers - again a poor situation for those with moderate physical disabilities, and the bathroom extractor fan did not work.
Go for the breakfast but forget the sleep!

The hotel is very close to J39 of the MI and has lots of fre parking. The associated bar and restaurant(THE RED KITE) is pleasant with good food and wine/ beer. The hotel is clean, tidy and noise free. A real positive is the friendly staff particularly the receptionist on my visit. However i have to mention the lack of free wifi.. At £3 minimum or £10 per day this is just a rip off. The business travelller needs access to the internet and this chain needs to realise its compeitors have recognised that and provide free or lost cost facilities

I stayed here for two nights on business in June 2010.
The hotel is less than a mile from Jct 39 of the M1, so provides excellent access to Motorway routes to Leeds, Barnsley and Wakefield itself, and from inside you can
not hear any traffic noise.
I Stayed in room 203 at the front of the hotel, which was large with tea and coffee facilities (no biscuits), TV (14 channels + PPV) and hairdryer. The room had a shower and was immaculately clean and comfortable, with a huge bed and free wi-fi access.
Premier Inns offer an all-you can-eat buffet or cooked breakfast which was of a very high quality. They offer granola with a variety of fruit toppings, cereals, toast / pastries and YOU CAN EAT AS MUCH AS YOU LIKE!!
The hotel has no bar or restaurant, but this is not an issue as there is an excellent pub within staggering distance (The Red Kite), which is part of the "Village Inn" chain.
Parking was free and not a problem as I would expect most people stay closer to town centres.
In summary, I didn't expect much from this hotel but was very impressed.
