Review of Six Chimneys

Another wetherspoons pub and a very busy one at that. Having taken a look around Wakefield city centre we chanced upon the six chimneys and feeling hungry we ventured inside. Glancing over the menu i just had to have the piri chicken accompanied with relish chips and salad and more than a mouthful for the price (£6.50). My daughter opted for a gourmet hotdog and its size was massive with a topping of chilli con carne chips and beer battered onion rings( £5.95). Could we eat them??? no way there was too much for us both but ive no doubt these platters are eagerly gorged by the visitors and locals to this pub. Well worth a visit with very good priced drinks too

To get in the place you have to fight your way past the smokers outside drinks are cheap ish they have good offers on food each day and it tastes pretty good but the tables are always dirty and trying to get someone to clean them well your wasting your breath as they totally ignore the request of cleaning them. They are very fast to clear your plates away though which can feel rude at times as you are made to feel as though they want you to move on even when it's not busy. Also you can't book so if there are a lot of you chances are you will end up been split up. Plus they like to serve their regulars over other people 1st which is some what rude at times specially when you've waited ages to be served

Called in here during the Summer as it was hot & were were in need of a nice cold drink.
Firstly, you have to get in the door & that can be a struggle as there's several smokers/drunks hanging around the door.
I got the idea that this was a regular haunt of several local drunks, as I took my drink over to the bar stool near the window - I was informed that I wasn't able to sit at the table as it was taken!
So we finished our drinks & left - I can safely say that I won't be returning to this place - I have noticed that the same guys are sat in those same seats day in day out!

This was a typical wetherspoons good food, service and friendly staff. The location is good with the main part of the town right outside. The town is very clean and well designed a great place to shop, even for a bloke.

Called in for a drink and a bite to eat, sat down at a table it was filthy moved to another table it was the same, got a drink but decided against the food as the tables were so dirty. Whilst we were having our drink we watched the waitress clear five tables where people had been eating and she did not wipe any of them down she left them dirty. Mayber it's just me but I don't think this is exceptable needless to say wont be going again
