Went to the Wakefield v Leeds match and stayed over for a night (Fri 26th July) and wished we had booked for two as we would have liked to have spent more time in the park especially as there was a music festival going on for the weekend. We have stayed at many Premier Inn and have to say that this one is by far the best especially for it's location. Yes there was a wedding going on ( as previous review has said there might ) but in all honesty it didn't spoil our stay probably as it was our wedding anniversary :-) There is ample seating outside to enjoy a drink or two in the sunshine and the bar and restaurant are exceptional. The bands were warming up on the the Saturday morning but we just shut the window and put the fan on. The staff were all friendly and made you feel welcome. No complaints at all...and Leeds beat Wakefield so we left very happy. We plan to return for a nice relaxing break in September.

Room Tip: Can't see that any rooms would be better than others. Once you leave your room there is ample sp...

We stayed here over night in July 2013, one of the hottest days/nights of the year, it was a quick over nighter before an important business engagement the next day. The hotel its self is lovely with a great little restaurant attached, in a peaceful setting, all great, room light and airy, all great. Not so great was their failure to mention the wedding party happening ten feet from our window until gone mid night, so we couldn't open the window, no air con, and hence no sleep. Phone them first to find out if their marquee is to be used during your stay, if it is, do not book, simple. Otherwise, lovely.

We have just returned from a weekend break, where we stopped at the Premier Inn Wakefield Central.
The hotel is situated in a quiet position, off the road within Clarence Park. No traffic noise could be heard at the hotel, from the busy A636 which ran alongside the park adjoining Wakefield to the M1.
There is a drop off point outside the door of the hotel ... but for those with difficulty walking, there are steep flights of steps down from the Premier Inn car park to the reception area and therefore locating a space within the restaurants car park may be a preferred option.
The receptionist was very friendly and no problems checking in.
Our room was on the third floor, facing out towards the wooded area and car park. There are no lifts available at this hotel ... not a problem for us ... but if also with heavy bags to consider, a ground floor room may need to be requested?
We received an e:mail on the Monday before our visit, advising of a wedding venue that was to be held within the grounds of the adjacent Holmfield restaurant and pre-warning us that we may experience some noise on the Friday/Saturday night. Being on the third floor and the opposite side of the building ... no noise could be heard from the event.
We don’t usually bother with breakfast but had an enjoyable evening meal at the Holmfield the second night of our stay.
It is about a twenty minute walk into the centre of Wakefield from the hotel.
Overall we enjoyed our stay, would be happy to return for another visit and would recommend this hotel to others.

I stayed here one night on business and was really impressed. The hotel is set in nice grounds not far from the centre of Wakefield. I arrived on the train and took a taxi (cost £3.50 which I thought was cheap). Booking in was quick and reliable with a friendly receptionist. I had an evening meal in the adjoining pub with my colleague and was really impressed with the meal which wasn't expensive although the glass of wine was a little pricy. My room was clean and bright and had a good sleep in a comfy bed. The hotel was very quiet and I didnt hear any other guests although the receptionist said that they hotel was quite full that night. Breakfast was really nice and was cooked to order. All in all, really good value and I would not hesitate to recommend it.

Stayed here for three nights to visit new Hepworth gallery and Yorkshire Sculpture Park which were both easily accessible and well worth visiting. We travelled by train from London and used public transport to get around which was very easy. Hotel is situated in a quiet location about 15 mins walk from main train station and is also on a bus route where there are frequent buses to the city centre. Hotel staff were friendly and helpful. Our room was fine and the breakfast was excellent, Cooked to order which meant it tasted better than hot buffet breakfasts offered in many of the more expensive hotels. Definitely very good value for money and would stay here again.

Stayed here for one night on a business trip. Was in room 32 second floor. The hotel was very quiet and the receptionist who booked me in was extremely pleasant. Had one of the best breakfasts from a Premier Inn here, and I have stayed at loads. Observation point, there isn't a lift to the upper floors, didn't bother me but if you struggle ask for a ground floor room.
Would certainly recommend.

I chose this hotel because of it's central location between two days of sight-seeing, and the positive TripAdvisor reviews. It's set in beautiful parkland, very quiet and peaceful. The rooms were clean and ours had a lovely little balcony opening onto the surrounding woodland. Reception staff coped efficiently with our slightly rowdy group, and the on-site restaurant served great food both in the evening and a terrific breakfast in the morning.
Highly recommended.
