This unassuming public house has one of the best Sunday lunches in Wakefield. The Yorkshire puddings are made to order.. no packet rubbish here. There are plenty of vegetables served with the roast (choice of beef, pork or gammon). We were presented with sprouts, cabbage roast potatoes mashed potatoes and carrot crush, all made on the premises. For a little extra you can have homemade steak pie or half a roast chicken, The food was delicious. We tried the homemade apple pie and it was just like granny used to make.. All for the princely sum of £6. You can have a starter and a sweet for an extra £1 per course. I have paid four times the price for less in some fancy eateries. Definitely worth a visit. Sadly they only do Sunday lunch but should branch out on other days.
