Description: The Browning family has run this thriving country pub since 1979 and while the menu, staff and decor might have changed over the years the quality of food has remained paramount.Following a devastating fire in March 2008 the pub has been sympathetically restored to a high standard, retaining it's characteristic charm while boasting a contemporary style.Produce is locally sourced from quality Westcountry suppliers allowing our experienced chefs to create classic dishes with a modern influence. And with a choice of beautifully-furnished accommodation to choose from, the Rose and Crown is the perfect base for guests exploring the magnificent county of Somerset.

Love the rose and crown - Sundays are brilliant but the mid week offer is amazing.
Try it, it's well worth the drive out of town

I was looking at Trip Advisor for a place to have lunch on Mother's day and the reviews for The Rose and Crown Restaurant seemed favourable. The ride through the country roads to get there was pleasant enough in spite of feeling off the beaten track. However, it turned out to be a great choice for a special meal on Mothering Sunday. Our waitress was knowledgeable of the menu and had a keen sense of humour. Our meals were all delicious with generous helpings. We were all very full by the end of the afternoon but most importantly, my mum really enjoyed herself. If we had one minor quibble, it would be the church pew like double bench which was a tad snug for two portly gentlemen. All mothers were given a small potted plant at the end of the meal - a nice touch.

Every time we visit the food just gets better and it was perfect the first time. The roast potatoes were the best I've ever had and the Yorkshire puddings the size of Belgium. Sticky toffee pudding with clotted cream ice cream was superb and dangerously large. As always the staff were very friendly helping to make The R & C such a great place to eat.

We ate at the Rose & Crown last night. Food was excellent all cooked fresh to order. And the chips were the best I had tasted in a long time. We will be back. We will recommend you to all our friends. See you soon.
