we stayed at Yallands for 2 nights in a lovely room overlooking the garden.
Our room was very comfortable and had all the ammenities we needed.
Breakfast was very varied with lots of choice.
Chris and Karen were the perfect hosts even agreeing to arrange a bbq for us and other family members on the last night of our stay.
Overall, A great place and lovely hosts.
Will definately be back in the near future.

Stayed for 2 nights, good breakfast. Lovely large room in old part of farm but let down by 2 very narrow single beds. Bit of traffic noise at night but am probably over sensitive as live in very quiet location. Otherwise comfortable and very friendly and helpful hosts. Would recommend.

We're very glad that you enjoyed your stay with us and took the time to leave us a good review. Ref the two single beds, just to be clear for our future guests they are standard 3' width single beds and not the narrower 2'6" beds......!

Kind regards

Chris

This was the second time we had stayed here . It was once a remote farmhouse but now is in the midst of a 1970s housing estate on the edge of Taunton. However, once inside the grounds you would never know it and it manages to offer a peaceful rural experience - I even heard birds gently twittering outside out bedroom windows when I awoke.
We had no problems with our room and in such an old building (17th century I think), there is always a degree of quirkiness in terms of stairs, floor levels and ceilings but that is all part of the charm/fun. We had a brief but great stay and enjoyed the freshly prepared breakfast.
We booked to return with the family later in the year before we left. Surely that says it all?

I stayed at Yallands Farmhouse for a few nights per week over the last couple of months whilst on business in the area. The owners Karen & Chris made me very welcome, ensuring that I had everything I needed. The quality in accommodation, comfort, cleanliness, breakfast and evening meals is consistently excellent. Karen's home cooked food is great, and she ensured my vegetarian and fish diet was varied. Chris's home-made ice cream is superb.
It was great to find this little gem of a place to stay with licensed restaurant, a beautiful garden and fantastic hosts. This is a perfect place to stay whilst on holiday or on business.
I plan to return very soon with the family, this time for a holiday!

I stayed at Yallands Farmhouse for 2 weeks in June 2012 and must thank Karen and Chris for a wonderful stay. I was travelling on my own and they went out of their way to look after me and made me feel so welcome. I stayed in their Chestnut Room (double en-suite), the bed was really comfortable with clean linen and I slept very well. The private bathroom had a toilet, lovely hot shower & soft clean white towels. The room looked out over the well kept garden which was great to look out on in the mornings. The evening meals were great, home made and using fresh ingredients. I can thoroughly recommend Yallands if you are staying in Taunton, its 10 mins from the centre.

We stayed at the Yallands Farmhouse last weekend and had an excellent night. We stayed in the family room with our two teen children, beds were very comfortable, lovely hot shower and separate toilet. Breakfast was very good and I was particularly impressed to be offered gluten free bread and soya milk. We would definitely stay again.

Yallands is so muh more than a delightful B&B very conveniently located in Taunton. It really is a home away from home. Chris and Karen both go out of their way to make you feel very welcome, and the evening meals are very highly recommended. The rooms are very clean and quiet, even when all rooms are occupied. We spent three wonderful nights while looking into family history in the area, and each day when we returned, we really felt we were "home again". Highly recommended for an overnight stay on the way to the south west, or even better for a fews days to enjoy the atmosphere.

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
Owners Chris & Karen Ward look forward to welcoming you to Yallands Farmhouse - our delightful Grade II Listed building dating back over 400 years, which sat amidst acres of green fields for several centuries. The expansion of Taunton during the 1970's led to new housing being built on the former farmland. The farmhouse, with its secluded garden, small orchard, and stone barn was left intact. As a result, Yallands has become an unexpected 'oasis' of peace and tranquility within a modern corner of Somerset's county town. Yallands offers self-assessed 4 star accommodation in Taunton, Somerset. The house is situated 1 1/2 miles from Taunton town centre, on the north-western edge of the town, and is easily reached from the M5 motorway - junction 25 (4 miles), and junction 26 (6 miles). For those who are reliant on public transport a local bus, with a stop at the foot of the garden, provides a frequent daytime service to and from the town centre. The lovely town centre provides excellent shopping and county cricket, horse racing, golf, theatre and other leisure facilities are all available nearby. Taunton has a good selection of restaurants and wine bars to suit most tastes and the surrounding countryside offers many delightful pubs which serve excellent food. There is ample car parking space in the private grounds together with lockable cycle storage in the stables. Why not enjoy relaxing in our gardens in the summer or sitting in front of our open fire in those cold winter months? Yallands is open all year round and - whether you are a tourist or a business visitor - you can be assured of a warm welcome and our individual attention.Yallands is particularly convenient for Taunton School, The Somerset Heritage Centre & Nuffield Hospital. ... more   less
