“Taunton”
Reviewed 19 October 2011

Enjoyed the hotel, however the restauraunt is not owned by Premier, and therefore it doesn't come up to the same standards as other Premier Inns. Menu shockingly sparse!

just spent a weekend in taunton, somerset - premier inn really well placed for looking around taunton - oppposite the reasonably priced park and ride five to ten minutes from centre of taunton so ideal for shopping trip or going out for a meal without worrying about drinking and driving. Attached restaurant to hotel also very pleasant place to eat whatever time of day. Premier Inn staff very knowledgeable about area and happy to give advice on where to shop, eat and sight see.

Stayed at the Premier Inn for an overnight stay on the way for a weeks holiday in Cornwall. On arrival, the greeting from the receptionist was very professional, welcoming, friendly, helpful and made sure that my stay at the Inn was to be a pleasant one. The room was very comfortable, clean and a nice large bed, which also was very comfortable. Although the M5 was not far away and our room was facing it, I was surprised how fairly quite it was. The noise was more of a "comfortable drone" than that of a busy annoying road noise that I have experienced at other Inn's. It did not disturb me at all. The Pub next door was brilliant. I did not have the breakfast, as I was still full up from my meal the night before. The menu choices were sufficient and the meal I had was excellent with the staff being very friendly. Would definitely stay again and would recommend this Inn to friends and family.

For place sited in the middle of no where, the pub attached was awfull. Many people complaining of waiting, poor food etc. Our experience was just as bad, the breakfast was terrible what with the green scambled egg and sausages that were trying to get away from the gone of MILK

Stayed at the Inn in Taunton on way back to London from Plymouth, during America's Cup Week. The place lived up to all expectations of Premier Inn's advertising, clean, sufficient rooms, a huge double bed, freeview TV, very friendly, helpful staff. There is a very nice Pub / Restaurant next door, very good food. Recommend the experience, if looking to go budget it will meet all needs.

Stayed for one night in a twin room. Reception staff were friendly and helpful and rooms were standard for Premier inn. The only problem was the temperature of the rooms, the windows were open on our arrival, which kept it at a reasonable level. However, at night the noise from the nearby M5 kept you awake, so it was either noise or heat that made for a restless night. The nearby pub was fine, but the carvery was somewhat depleted by the time we ate, The breakfast buffet was OK, but the coffee was very bland and I couldn't finish a cup as it was so poor.Overall fairly standard Premier Inn just off the M5..

Room Tip: Go for a room at the front of the hotel, not backing on to the M5

Delighted to find I can review the hotels so I can let off steam. Most are great. I stay in Premier a LOT. Room and bathroom was small though I do arrive late and often get the last room. Meals I wanted were off the menu that evening so stayed with the old faithful fish and chips which Premier seem to do do well everywhere (thank goodness). I am also a grumpy person when hungry and I can't get what I want - No Costa coffee in the morning, just filter which is awful. I cancelled the following nights stay and drove home four hours that night to avoid (told you I was grumpy). Staff were fine except the lad who told me I was NOT allowed to use the espresso machine, I had to use the jug (he could have phrased it better). Going to use the other Premiers in the area as I'm going to visit frequently.
