We stayed here overnight on long journey. Everything was as expected. No noise from inside or outside. Clean comfy room. Breakfast pretty typical too. Didn't eat in the restaurant in the evening, preferred to go to the Beefeater next to the other Taunton Premier Inn where we've eaten before.

I stayed here with my husband and a group of friends travelling from Wales to a wedding in Devon. The hotel itself was fine - usual Premier Inn quality, very comfortable bed and clean. There were a few negatives - The room didn't have air conditioning and as the windows can't be open in full the rooms were far too warm. The shower was also poor.
The staff on reception were very friendly and helpful. They recommended a restaurant in Ruishton which was a 10 min walk down the lane. They even offered us umberella's to take with us! After 15 minutes in our room we received a telephone call to check that everything was ok with our room. They also rang the restaurant to make our booking. The meal was adequate and reasonable but the lane would be quite dark to walk home in the winter.
The restaurant next door to the hotel was quite random and dirty! We had a few drinks here as it was convenient. We also had breakfast here in the morning and it was disgusting!! The hash browns, sausages and bacon were'nt cooked! The staff however were very friendly.

We have stayed at this side every year in august for the last 6 years on our way down to Cornwall it was always excellent this year our group of 11 had too few beds in family rooms when we booked in January six adults 5 kids. One poor eastern european guy on reception trying to do 3 peoples jobs and a queue stretching into carpark did not help, booked dinner for group arrived told double booked we could eat in bar if we moved tables around we were then told a 11/2 to 2 hour wait for food, with small children told we could have free crisps whilst waiting very healthy we left restaurant,
Only saving grace was breakfast lady who s been there years she is absolutely fantastic deserves a medal she has saved me writing a far worst review

Room Tip: Holiday inn , dinner at Harvester,Breakfast here

We stayed as a family of four in one room, & as usual with Premier inn the room was fine, the beds comfy, & the staff friendly.
However, when we went to the restaurant in the evening things went down rapidly!
First of all we ordered a bottle of house white, when it arrived it was luke warm & the waitress had brought us a glass of ice to go with it.
Secondly three of us ordered the carvery, and at the time we went up to get our food there was no veg at the counter. When we told the serving staff he just shrugged his shoulders as he was busy serving more people in the queue.
My daughter ordered a chicken tikka, this was on 'thursday curry night'. When she started eating it, it was literally frozen in the middle (colder than the wine!). We told a waiter (they were very thin on the ground) who didn't apologise, just took it away & brought us another one ten minutes later. Whilst waiting for our daughter to eat her dinner (as we had all long finished) I went to the bar & queued for a beer for another ten minutes!
When I got the bill I asked to speak to the manager, explained to him all the problems we had, & he offered us 25% discount (which covered the warm white wine) which was fine but I'd have rather have had proper service & paid the full bill...
Such a shame as we usually try to stay at Premier inn & have always been pleased at the other hotels we've stayed at.

Room Tip: Unable to open windows on ground floor rooms so can get too hot.

Stayed for 2 nights as off to a wedding, perfectly clean & adequate room, comfy bed & excellent shower. Hotel staff very friendly & helpful. Avoided breakfast on 1st morning as read previous reviews, but on recommendation of friends & to meet up tried it the 2nd morning ! The lady in charge was very welcoming & cheerful. The breakfast was entirely self service, which was fine & there was plenty of everything, although I only went for the continental option. The only problem was that clearing of tables was non existent and therefore a bit of a problem at a busy breakfast time, not too sure what the two young female employees were doing as we were all helping ourselves !! Would be happy to stay there again and even venture to the breakfast room again !!
