“Very Nice Hotel”
Reviewed 5 January 2013

After reading previous reviews I called the hotel the day before arrival and asked for a room in the main building, on the top floor and facing away from the M5 motorway.
On arrival, we were allocated room 31, and this room was exactly as requested.
The room was very clean and spacious and we had a very good nights sleep.
The hotel itself is just a couple of minutes drive from exit 25 of the M5 and had planty of car parking spaces in a well lit car park.
We did not use the nearby pub to eat due to palns we already had made.
The hotel reception staff were all very helpful, happy and professional.

Room Tip: Request a quiet room on the top floor for a peaceful nights sleep.

Was greeted by male staff member on arrival. Not informed of any incentives that Premier offer. Was told our accommodation was in a separate block opposite the main building. Also that breakfast was provided by the restaurant further down the road. Not the cleanest of restaurants I've used when staying at Premier Inns.
Trouble adjusting room thermostat. Room was comfortable for an overnight stay, but would not use it for more than one night. Room could do with a fresh coat of paint. Shower lacked any power.
Convenient for motorway. Very little noise from motorway, but bathroom fans from other rooms could disturb you if your a light sleeper.

Room Tip: Ask for room in main building.

When we arrived the room was cold. The bedside lights were so dim we cold not read by them and the food in the restaurant was disgusting (breakfast) Bread hard and dry croissants vile and the restaurant was freezing. The TV in our room was ancient and needed retuning every time it was switched on. The staff are friendly but I would never eat here again

I stayed here with my family a couple of weeks ago when it seemed like the whole of the South West was going under water, luckily the hotel was nice and dry. There is plenty of parking at this hotel, if you want to walk into town then this isn't the hotel for you, but it is centrally located to the motorway so perfect for a stopover.

Receptionist staff were very friendly, happy, and helpful. The room we had faced the car park, windows are double glazed and the room was clean and tidy. The beds were comfy enough but for some reason I didn't get an amazing nights sleep, it was very quiet in the hotel though. Overall this is a perfectly decent hotel, nothing particularly special, but no complaints.

Quite a few reviews about the food in the pub which is just over from the Hotel where breakfast is served. Personally I thought the food was pretty decent, saying that I haven't stayed in other Premier Inns. Staff once again were friendly and helpful. I had the continental breakfast, four others had the full English. Additional hot food had just been put out and the breakfast looked pretty good, they all thought the breakfast was pretty good and ate the lot. Crumpets were nice as well, bit of a lack of muffins though, could diversify on the coffee as well. Only one staff member was doing all the work though, the till, sorting all the juice and everything else out, not sure if this was because of the floods so they were short of staff, but they could have done with another member.

The Pub next to the hotel is good for a quick pint, they have a nice log fire as well. overall not a bad place, got the rooms for a rock bottom price as well which is always a bonus.

Stayed here for a weekend with family and friends. The hotel was comfortable and the staff polite and efficient. When I reported a minor fault with the room, it was fixed within 5 mins: All you would expect from a Premier Inn.
BUT BEWARE- the pub/resaturant, The Blackbrook Tavern, next to the hotel offers very poor service and should be avoided at all costs!!!! The so called 'carvery' allegedly offered four chioces- beef, pork, turkey and pie of the day. Can you believe that by 8 pm, on a Friday evening, they had run out of both the pie and beef and could only offer turkey and pork (which looked like it had been steamed and had never seen the inside of an oven)! Needless to say we walked out and found somewhere else to eat. To add insult to injury, this so called restaurant then FAILED to open for breakfast on Saturday morning (3rd November). Leaving those that had booked having to find somewhere else at short notice to eat.
I know the Blackbrook Tavern is NOT owned or run by Premier Inn But they must do whatever it takes to guide patrons away from this place to other and better places to eat.

We stayed here for Bridgwater carnival- about 10 minutes drive? Ideal for a family stop over- clean and tidy and great price too. Reception pleasant and staff friendly- we didn't eat in the restaurant as it was closed due to no key? But we preferred to go to the beefeater attached to the premier inn in Taunton and this was lovely. Would stay again (we had family room with 2 single put up beds but the main bed was huge and plenty of space for us)!
