Reliable and consistent as ever, the staff and accommodation were excellent. Only gripe is that after a stressful, 200 mile drive it would be nice to have table service rather have to order at the bar

We spent Saturday evening here after a day out on Somerset steam railway , we were greeted by friendly helpful staff at the premier inn, who arranged our booking for our evening meal at the Brewers fayre which was located next door a short walk away. The rooms were very clean tidy and comfortable the rooms had tea making facilities a hairdryer, TV, 30 mins free wifi but you can purchase 24hours for £3 toiletries and towels ,the baths are a bit narrow and when I showered I kept hitting the handrail on the wall but that was only a minor problem. The bed was a dream didn't want to get out they have a choice of pillows in your room firm or softer can't ask for more for what we paid excellent value.

As a frequent user of the premier inn chain I was disappointed with this one I'm afraid. We booked a couple of weeks in advance as we normally would but would have appreciated an update from them regarding their redecorating works. There was a sign on the desk warning about wet paint etc. but really the smell was the problem had to have the window open and even then the smell was so overpowering it could give you a headache. I know this is a one off thing but I think they should have perhaps warned us before arrival. Check in was good polite, helpful staff. Room was standard, a plus that the tv's have been updated to a bigger flat screen.

The other main problem was that we had a room at the back by the road, window doesn't really stop the noise. Also the flood lights on the car park light the room up, yes there are blackout curtains but even they don't stop the light from getting in above and below the curtains. So not a great night sleep guaranteed. And have you ever read what you've got to do to get your money back, it's really not that easy or convenient I' m really going to be reporting things like that at 2am in the morning. A real shame but I think I'd stick to the ruishton one if I stop over again.

I had two nights here when watching the cricket at the county ground. It is only two miles off junction 25 of the M5. The town centre is a 20 minute walk away and the cricket ground about 15 minutes.

The hotel is close to a busy road, as they say on their site, and from my room - 38 you could certainly hear traffic going by although it didn't worry me. During the night I could hear a dripping noise from outside - can only think it was an overflow going. On the second night the guttering outside my room was dripping at the joint due to steady rain - not major issues but annoying. If you are a light sleeper I think I would ask for a room on the hotel entrance side - an odd numbered room.

My room had recently been decorated and had a decent flat screen television. However it is an old style/unrefurbished room - the giveaway is the purple picture that adorns every room - nevertheless an improvement on the ghastly sunflower block in the more modern rooms. No air conditioning - just a fan. I wasn't impressed with the hand towels - very thin and at home I wouldn't have dried the dog with it. Bath towels were fine. I do wish Whitbread would re-position the bath soap dispensers - you are likely to get a hernia reaching for it or if you sit at the other end, then concussion from the bath taps is quite likely.

The adjacent Brewers Fayre, O'Bridge served a buffet cooked breakfast and perfectly satisfactory evening meals.

A very much typical Premier Inn and I would happily stay here again - very convenient for the county cricket.

Room Tip: Ash for an odd numbered room which are away from the busy room

Stayed for four nights in early May...
Currently all rooms are getting a fresh coat of paint which makes the whole building feel that bit more fresher than it perhaps recently was.
Brewers Fayre brekkie was fine but as there was an issue as regards the amounts of fresh fried eggs, bacon etc that was on demand.
If there were families or at the busier times say then there was a wait for fresh fayre.
In the evenings i've got to say i did here three separate folk complain about service and or rhe poor standard of the food brought to the table.
Observed that the Mexican special buffet food on the Monday evening was left unattended under the heat lamps for over half an hour which made it look very unpalatable.
Staff were slow to clear tables and cleanse tables.
Enough of the O'Bridge though..
Took us 20/25 mins to walk to the county cricket ground which is in the town itself. Would have been nice to have bus times and fares on display.
Taxi's were pricey at £6.00/£7.50 for the journey to and from town depending on time of day.

Always a favourite of ours, close to the family and very nice staff in the hotel. Brewers Fayre a bit hit or miss, evening meals adequate, breakfast, you have to time it right or you have to wait for eggs, then the bacon runs out, then the sausages!!
Oh well, only a little gripe!!
