A friend and I (age 25 & 28) found this bungalow for a last minute weekend away and couldn't have been happier.
We were in the bigger bungalow (of which Vera has two next door to each other). It had three bedrooms, one with an en suite, huge kitchen/dining room, conservatory and a living room. The huge garden and private gated drive were great for larger parties or people with kids. There was also a trampoline, a pool table, table tennis and a darts board so we certainly didn't run out of things to do!
We drove to beautiful Lyme Regis in the day and it took around 30 mins to get there in a car.
The bungalow is situated in the countryside so lovely walks and a cute little town is five minutes down a lane.
We only met Vera but she was lovely and welcoming and even left welcome cakes on the dining room table which was a nice touch!
I'd recommend it and have done so to my Mum as I think it's suitable for all age groups. My friend and I had a lovely weekend for a very reasonable price.
Our only regret was forgetting to write in the guest book.
We have stayed at South Cleeves and Old South Cleeves a number of times. The last stay was during Easter break 2015. We were a large family group, including two dogs, using both cottages. Both cottages are very comfortable and have everything you need for a holiday, including WIFI which kept the kids happy. The games room, with pool, darts and table tennis is excellent. Even though we were lucky with the weather we spent many hours enjoying these facilities. The gardens are great too. We had a BBQ whilst the kids bounced on the trampoline and played football. The owners are very friendly welcoming plus we always enjoy the cake that we find on arrival. All in all a great place to stay and a great base to explore the surrounding area.
We've stayed at South Cleeve Cottage a number of times now and we have booked again for next May. Immaculately clean and cosy cottage, with a very homely feel. The cottage has WiFi and everything any reasonable person could wish for. But it's the welcome cake that we think about as we drive down.
The area is ideal for quick travel to the North coast (it takes me less than an hour to Minehead) and a lot less than that to the South Coast (Sidmouth & Lyme Regis). But we just love Honiton and the wonderful villages around the area. Excellent local pubs, that are dog friendly and superb walks in the Blackdown Hills. It's no wonder that we will return again
