Everything about this place was awesome - the service, the food, even the other diners who were there - pity I was only there for one night.
On arrival I was shown my room - it was huge, the supersize bed, lounge area, and an enormous bathroom. If that wasn't impressive enough, I went to the bar and ordered a meal - simply delicious, no wonder the place was packed with regulars and other tourists.

Breakfast is a must! I will be back to the Farmers Arms, thank you for the experience!

The rooms are excellent but not absolutely top luxury but very good. It's the natural, cheerfulness and easy, good mannered style with which the staff delivery friendly, outstanding service, that should warm your heart. If "Yes" is possible, then "Yes" is the answer. I want to know who selects the staff - the manageress was every owner's dream.... knew her job and delivered with gentle charisma and charm. If we go away for a couple of days, they will be top of the list - it was better than we could have hoped.

Used it for stop over on our way to Devon. Lovely area perfect for dog walks, big room, lovely little terrace outside, parked the car right outside back door, weren't a lot of choice menu wise for tea time (no chicken) but we still had tea 1 of the 2 nights, lovely breakfast friendly staff :))

Stopped over here for one night (shame it wasnt more) off beaten track, so nice and relaxing and superb views. Great little hotel, lovely room and really nice bar and eating area.
Wasnt fortunate to eat there but if the means were as good as the breakfast which we did have then would be excellent.
Highly recommended hotel and restaraunt.

We came here with the dog on a 2 for 1 deal through Waitrose, and were so impressed with the quality of the accomodation. We had the Lincoln suite I think (I might have it wrong though!) - red walls and split level, almost like a mezzanine level and sunken bathroom. It was just unbelievably snug and elegant. The free-standing bath and yellow bathroom was really special, too, and the little bit of private outside space was very handy for letting the dog out.

The food was great and the restaurant was busy with lots of locals who obviously came just for the restaurant, so that's a good sign. Service was always friendly and the whole place had a lovely relaxed, welcoming feel to it.

Would highly recommend, either for a treat away or just for a meal.

The plus side: The food was very good, size of room excellent. The minus side: The room was very musky where it had been left shut for too long, the dust had accummulated on all areas. The plumbing absolutely terrible, noisy, the shower water did not go down the plug efficiently. Very noisy in the night where doors are being slammed and plumbing problems. Garden could do with a tidy too. Finding the Farmers Arms was an adventure in itself. You drive down single track roads with not many passing holes. Shame, this could be a first class pub to stay in if they get their act together.

Stayed here for 1 night on the way to Devon . Staff were really friendly . We didn't book in advance although I had phoned ahead to check they had rooms . We turned up on a busy Saturday evening and were shown immediately to a lovely spacious room with huge bathroom which was extremely well appointed for a pub . We ate a fabulous meal in the buzzing atmosphere of this friendly pub and the following morning had a perfect breakfast .
I agree with others it's not easy to find without sat nav but worth it when you get there
