“Wedding with overnight stay”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 2 June 2014 via mobile

Spend a night here whilst attending a wedding function, actually my 3rd stay at the hotel in past 2 years,

Having read a few reviews before arriving, I must say some are harsh, and some are justified,

the hotel is old, so are all the fixtures and fittings in all of the 3 rooms I've previously stayed in BUT clean none the less,
Finding room 312 is an adventure via 2 lifts and three different floors/levels but we managed!

Tea and coffee is provided, as are basic toiletries, which is a nice touch !

The function room and facilities are perfect for a wedding reception, there is no faulting that!

Breakfast is lovely!! Good selection of juices, cereals, fruits as well as a fully stocked proper English brekkie 10/10 thoughly enjoyed !!!

So in summery £65 for a double room that's clean, followed by a good breakfast is good value for money !!
I wouldn't hesitate stopping here again

Booked in for a 2 night stay with my 6 year old daughter. Check in was easy, staff very courteous, room 104 overlooked the lake, was clean, tidy, very warm, and well big enough for us 2. Peaceful nights sleep, lovely swim in the pool, lovely location. Would definitely recommend.

Room Tip: Ask for Lakeside

Waited for 10 minutes for the clearly bored receptionist to rock up.
Cobwebs in the bathroom and above the bed. Shower no more than a trickle.
Dented paper lamp shades. Cheap and nasty divan bed with micro thin cheap mattress. Coffee, shampoo etc not replenished...
You get the picture. Avoid.

Dear Guest

Thank you for your observations following your recent stay here at the Ramada Birmingham Sutton Coldfield.

It is with regret you experienced a delay at check in, the team may have been assisting guests either helping with luggage, directing them to rooms, or be in the back office taking calls and/or dealing with administration. Regardless, our aim is always to check guests in and out as quickly and efficiently as possible, but occasionally, this may take longer than we would wish. Your description of the colleague in question is most unusual, and your direct contact to advise your identification and enable us to track who had not met your expectation, would be most appreciated to enable us to coach the desired consistent behaviour.

Please be assured that our team is genuinely friendly and accommodating and strives to ensure each guest experience is the best that it can be. The cobwebs in the bathroom were an oversight for which we apologise and the mattresses are of a commercial quality, so your direct contact to notify which room you occupied to enable an investigation would be appreciated.

The amenities trays should be replenished daily with additional supplies of tea/coffee/shampoo readily available on request - I am confident the team would have been more than happy to resolve the issue immediately but again I am sorry for the shortcomings encountered.

Yours sincerely

Smelt damp. Bathroom smelt drain smell. Burlesque show disgusting foul language, walked out half way through, expected a bit more class from Ramada. Complained at hotel, they said someone would phone me.they didn't. Complained by email, they said it was an adult show with an acquired taste. If I had wanted smut I would have gone to a working men's club. In fact that may have had more taste.

Dear Guest

I believe we may have corresponded directly via Email, and having noted your isolated observations on the nature of the clearly advertised, adult orientated burlesque show entertainment, it would appear from other reviews, it remains the case that your opinions are personal to you and not representative of the 90 plus other guests who attended the same event in April.

We have nonetheless continued to review the programme, and have recently run another event, that was again well attended, with a different compère, who was highly professional throughout. The burlesque entertainment is provided by a dance company who welcome constructive feedback and are keen to continue to develop their art. Our next burlesque event is on 30th August, with further dates in the year and into 2015.

Yours faithfully

Tired and disapointed after a 4 night stay. Humming kitchen fans going all night and wakened by heavy footsteps overhead at 5.30a.m. meant our stay in a room at rear of hotel spoilt our stay.
Although we had took advantage of a special offer - we did not see the best of this hotel. A previous visit a year ago had been lovely. Beautiful surroundings in parkland and close to town, is a good point. Room service (food) very expensive.

Room Tip: Avoid rear of hotel - floor 1 as it is above the kitchen extractor unit - running all night!

Dear Guest

Thank you for taking the time and trouble to share your thoughts regarding your personal experience whilst staying at our hotel recently and it is with regret that your experience with us was less than satisfying.

I am confident that had you brought the disturbance you experienced during your stay to the attention of the team, they would have been more than happy to resolve the issue to suit everybody's comfort, but again I am sorry for the shortcoming identified. I do hope you were able to take in the beautiful surroundings you refer to during your stay.

Yours sincerely

Had a fabulous deal staying 2 nights b & b with evening meal on first night via superbreaks. The room was clean, comfortable and spacious. Needed sometime to chill out and relax and this was the perfect venue. Set in a quiet location and close enough to get to other amenities should you need them.

The breakfast was superb, excellent choices and the evening meal menu was also good.

I take the comments on board that some of the common areas in the hotel were a bit tired and needed some TLC but on balance for what we paid we were more than happy with our stay.

This is a lovely hotel in a nice quiet location. This was our second visit and we stayed in 105 the same as before. This is a suite and it is spacious with a lovely outlook onto the lake. The room was a little tired compared to last time but it did not spoil our stay. The bathroom including the Japanese shower are a real highlight and add to the quality of the suite making the extra cost worthwhile. The leisure facilities are excellent and overall we enjoyed our stay and look forward to coming back soon.
