Despite our last visit being poor we decided to be fair we would give it another go and went for my Daughter in Laws Birthday.

BIG mistake. .. poppadoms arrived as per order, we eat them all and still no drinks turned up, we chased them twice, half the drinks then turned up, we reminded them about the missing ones, an order was then re taken.

5 miniutes later they turned up and the main orders taken... we were informed they had run out of ice and as the shops were shut do we would have to manage without.

Bearing in mind how busy they were (not), only one other table occupied and they were on the coffee course, the rest of the place empty (guess why) we were surprised to sit there waiting for about an hour, when eventually a waiter showed up at our table we were informed they had run out of dough and only 2 or the 6 nans ordered could be made........ but the rest of the food wouldn't be long.

Because the manager/owner couldn't even be bothered to inform us and sent a junior member of staff an hour after our order was placed, to deliver the bad news in his place, just matter of fact, we decided to leave.

We made our way out, the Manager then decided to make an aperence, we told him we were leaving as the service was just not good enough, his expression said it all, and no apology was forthcoming, the only comment was the foods on the trolley, obviously this is service as normal as far as he is concerned, we therefore paid for our drinks and poppadoms, incidentally regardless of the opportunity to save the day no offer of compensation for wasting our evening was offered so we left.

We will never go again, there are many excellent indian restaurants within walking distance of this place in Sutton Coldfield and therefore there is no need to put up with a restaurant who have no idea of customer service. We suggest you follow our lead.

Second visit since moving nearby. Very disappointing again so there won't be a third visit. All 3 mains exactly the same and only changed one when challenged repeatedly. Manager more interested in watering his plants than in customer service. Hardly anyone in, no wonder. Back to the Asian Grill in Park Road- great food, lovely staff, good customer care. Bye, bye Bashundora.

Average traditional British Asian curry house, at one time Sutton's best but now lots of competition so it needs to up its game-the management looking at and commenting on these reviews would be a start!

All four of us had good main courses but the two starters were poor. Drink service wasnt inspiring and no one could explain why we were kept waiting so long for the two outstanding Cobra lagers. Probably because the young waiter who had only been there two months had never been trained to resolve a problem.

As usual too much Gee, about time Asian food got a bit healthier

Reasonable priced food, service needs improvement you wont be disappointed. Good safe off road parking if you are early

Visited the Bashundora with two old friends who live not far away, and this was our second visit. A table had been booked for 7pm. We arrived and were seated by a very pleasant young man. We were very quickly asked if we wanted poppadoms, which we did, and then asked if we wanted drinks, which we did. We were busy chatting and did not notice how time was getting on..nearly half an hour before we were asked if we wanted starters. And then, we waited and waited and waited and my friend asked a waiter if our starters were ready. He scuttled off and came back apologising and saying they would be 5-10 minutes because " they had started late",. What he should have said was that they were getting takeaways sorted out at the same time and obviously did not have enough cooking staff on duty.
The starters arrived, and they were very good- very colourful! Everybody enjoyed them.
I had not finished my starter when the waiters came and started taking everybody else's starter plates away, which I thought was rude. Our main courses were ready and they weren't going to wait before bringing them.
My chicken bhuna was full of flavour and very tasty but had too many onions in it- and not enough chicken, really. Generous overall portion, though. The rice was good, as was the chapatti. My partner's lamb dopiaza was tasty, succulent, nicely presented, a generous amount of lamb in it and was not too hot.
Smashing Kingfisher Beer on tap, and a lovely quirky bottle for serving tap water in. Bit like a lava lamp!
The waiter kept on apologising for the time we had had to wait for the starters and then The main meal, even though it clearly was not his fault.

The meal was good value for money overall, and considering that we had 3 courses and drinks, we didn't have a lot to pay.
Would I go again? Definitely. I just hope that they get the service sorted out..my advice would be to ask people what they want for starters when you take the order for poppadoms, and you would not have this problem!
