We had been told that we could have the garden room plus a bedroom upstairs as their where the three of us. We had an email a few days before the visit to say we could not have the downstairs room as the ladys husband had had a stroke and could not use the stairs. On arrival we where told the ladys husband had a stroke 9 months ago,so this was miss representation of the accom. available.
Place was clean but the breakfast was poor , the cheapest eggs, bacon, and tinned tomatoes. We will not stay again.

Dear Lanes

I am disappointed that you did not enjoy your say with us during your visit to Stamford. I am not sure what more we could have done to make your stay better and right now I am also very confused by your review.

We are not aware of anyone who could have ever promised you the downstairs room, one thing certain it was not us. The room is not advertised on any website we have control of and we are not offering the room to anyone by any other means. You have made your reservation via booking com and asked for a double and a twin room “to be close together if possible” and this is exactly what you were offered when you arrived. We have never changed your booking since it was made and there is no history of any alterations. Further to this, we have never sent you any emails regarding changes to your booking or rooms. Please check it yourself, it is all available on the reservation website and in confirmation email.

At the check-in you did indeed asked about a room downstairs and we have informed you that it has not been available for months due to the reasons you have kindly made public in your review although it has not affected your stay in absolutely any way.
In fact the Garden room is where you had your breakfast in the morning.

Now, about the breakfast.

There are many options for our guest to choose from and you can pick anything you’d like, even all of it or none, it’s entirely up to you.
You have selected bacon, eggs and tinned tomatoes. We have not asked you to pick it and it was your own personal preference. If you don’t like tinned tomatoes, why not to ask for a fresh one, or something else instead?

As for the cheap bacon and eggs. I can assure you they are not cheap by far. We always source our breakfast ingredients from the local farmers and make sure they are of a good quality. The eggs are always organic free-range and the bacon has been delivered to us by the same supplier for over 14 years now and we have received not a single complain about it.

I am not convinced that simply getting a more expensive ingredients or adding a price tag to every item on the menu will make the breakfast any tastier or provide any other benefits to our guests.

If you feel that you want to give us any other feedback on how we can improve our services and accommodation please feel free to drop us a note. We always welcome constructive feedback, and pass it on to our suppliers, as it helps us to get a better service for Stamford visitors.

I sincerely hope your next trip to Stamford will be better, but please carefully check your reservation and food orders, so that you are not disappointed when you get it.

Just stayed the one night but was given a warm welcome by Galina , lovely little b&b near enough to town to walk. We had on suite double room , spotlessly clean, very comfy bed smashing full English breakfast with cereal, yogurts fruit salad if required. Not the biggest room in the world but did us fine and for the price we were more than happy, if we are ever in the area again would definitely stay another night.
We went to a gig at mama liz voodoo lounge within walking distance.
Galina went out of her way to be helpful , very pleasant all round.

The B&B is a smallish victorian semi on a main road. Our twin bedded room, with a good size bathroom next door, was clean but on the small side. When we arrived, there was a smell of stale cooking that permeated everywhere. The decor was very tired, the lighting on the dim side and there were lots of notices telling us not to take the coathangers etc. The room had two upright chairs but there was nowhere to sit in comfort (there is no lounge available for guests). Although the heating was on in the evening, it was not on the following morning and we were both shivvering by the time we left.

On a more positive note, the beds were comfortable enough and the breakfast was fine, a typical B&B breakfast.

Travelling on my own I found this place very late on a travel website after deciding that my initial place was too far from the wedding that i would be attending in nearby Barrowden, so glad that i did.

From the warm welcome to the tranquillity of the settings and surrounding area i knew that i would get my much desired sleep. I was in a beautiful clean fresh double room with the most amazing bed, no cheap frills this one. I didn't get back to room till 0130 am and to say i was out with a bang puts it mildly.

Breakfast was latest at 9am so i took that option so that i could maximise my sleeping time. Up i was and into the bright clean bathroom to have a shower that did was it says on the tin as in giving you a proper shower rather than some feeble trickle efforts that abound in many places.

Fully refreshed, charged with 2 cuppas inside me i trundled down to a tasty perfectly cooked full English that set my rotund belly up for the day. This all eaten while overlooking the beautiful garden, which in itself relaxes one especially if one has a woolly head, like i.

As i had a few hours to kill Gwynne B&B is ideally placed for a wander round beautiful Stamford or even the theatre which is round the corner. Very olde worlde and not much hustle and bustle, Stamford is an amazing and beautiful place to spend a weekend with ones other half if wanting to.

Do i recommend this place, yes i do. Why? Peace, quiet, location, breakfast and an AMAZING nights sleep

Stayed here to go to Tolethorpe open theatre. We had a good nights sleep and a good full English breakfast. The garden room was good as all of us could sit in there and have a chat. Although our room did not have an ensuite, we were provided with robes though as it was only just outside our room and we were all friends it was not a problem anyway. Very close to centre and short taxi to Tolethorpe. We'll be back next year.
