Huge, lovely park. Great place to walk around. Deer to see. Picnics to be had. Lots of events including concerts and horse trials. The park itself is a great place to spend some time but there are so many other things to do as well. See my Burghley House review.

Best known for the horse trials Burghley House is also a superb place to while away a quiet weekend afternoon.
The gardens are well maintained and the restaurants serve very good food.

“Splendid gardens, grounds and house”
Reviewed 2 June 2014

Loved the grounds, the sculptures, gardens and the restaurant. The house was grand as you would expect however, you do not see as much as we had anticipated though what we did see was excellent.

“A really enjoyable day”
Reviewed 2 June 2014 via mobile

House very interesting (and plenty of it!) - do use the audio guide, and take the headphones option as it took us 2 hours to look round and necks were cricked from holding it like a phone. Restaurant very good - not cheap. Sculpture garden and garden of surprises were both worth a visit.

Great meal after a great day out touring the house. Lovely food at a reasonable price. Everything we ordered was if the best quality and taste, and was served promptly and with a smile... Loved it!
