This is without doubt the worst place to have a drink in Stamford. The service was unfriendly and shockingly rude. We were given wine which had gone off (without any doubt) and instead of offering an alternative, the bar staff refused to take it back and then behaved like we were invisible and they couldn't hear us.
Lots of great places to have a drink in Stamford. Don't waste your money at this awful place.

Our group only had an hour's break from a workshop at the Arts Centre so we pre-booked our lunch here with very helpful staff, and hoped for the best! And we were not disappointed! Our meals arrived about five minutes after we arrived, so we had plenty of time to eat. The food was delicious and the surroundings very pleasant. The only downside was that some of us were beaten by the amount of meat on the plate!! We would definitely recommend this restaurant and hope to book again for next year.

We chose this restaurant as it looked really inviting from the outside, situated down a narrow backstreet lane. We were a bit confused though as the sign outside pointed in the different direction to where the entrance was located..... Once inside, the staff totally ignored us and we had to ask where we could be seated. As this was lunchtime on a Saturday, we expected the restaurant to be busy, however, this was not the case. Once seated, it took a while before one of the two waitresses came and asked what we would like to drink. It took even longer for the same waitress to take our order. Eventually, we got our drinks after the waitress admited she had forgotten all about our drinks order! The starter we had orderd was foul! It was a runny chicken liver pate, which quite frankly made my stomach churn! I had ordered vegetarian lasagne for mains and ,as the restaurant prides itself on everything being home made and locally sourced, I could have picked up the sauce in a local supermarket. The garlic bread, which was a side dish, had without a doubt come from the local cash and carry!! My husband ordered one of the specials, which was a hamburger with bacon and fries. He was served a bean burger! By this stage,we had had enough and asked for the bill. Whilst waiting for the bill, some new guests arrived and asked why the outside sign was pointingin the wrong direction, but were greeted with a shrug of the shoulders. No effort was made to go outside and turn the sign around!! We will NOT be visiting again! The memory we had of our dreadful experience that day, was the food repeating on us throughout the day! Advice: Give this restaurant a wide berth!

Found by chance, will return if ever back in town. We ate two excellent burgers good value at £6.99, I would go as far as saying they were the best Ive eaten and Ive had some experience! The service was quick, attentive without being overbearing. The beer and larger offered were not the usuall commercial choices but had obviously been chosen carefully for taste and quality whilst offering something different.

Went for Sunday lunch with the family and enjoyed the whole experience. The staff were very pleasant and the food was very good value. The chef came to check that we were happy with our meal. We all had two courses which was £12.95 each, the choices of starters were excellent. Portions were ample and will definitely go there again.
