Warm welcome from Victoria that was not, however, intrusive; she gave us the essentials then let us settle in by ourselves. This was easy as everything in the flat was to hand and simple to operate. The accommodation is spotless, comfortable and in a perfect location: a short five minute walk into the town centre and there is a Waitrose practically on the doorstep.
Stamford is a pretty town with many fine pubs with great beer and interesting food
(special mentions must go to the Bull & Swan, Tobie Norris and the Crown). The main memory we will take away with us, however, is how polite and pleasant everyone - young and old - is. We did not meet one rude or unhelpful person in our fortnight there - quite an achievement in these times.
A well presented basement apartment with real character. Just a short stroll from the town centre. Although no dedicated parking we had no problem finding a space nearby. Would recommend and will certainly visit again.
We were met at the property by Victoria and felt very welcome from the start. A delightful little apartment, in a beautiful period property. A quite location, but only a few minutes walk from the centre of Stamford. The quirky character features were lovely and intriguing, and the modern fixtures complemented the whole feel and ambience. The additional toilet under the stairs was very useful and the kitchen was very well equipped. We will definitely come back and stay again., Thank you again Victoria.
Clean, quiet and charming flat within walking distance of everything the town has to offer. The owners were helpful and welcoming. Recommended.
11 Rutland Terrace was a wonderful base for a weekend exploring Stamford and Burghley House. We travelled to Stamford by train but despite not having a car with us, we were able to easily source groceries for self- catering and the things we wanted to see on foot. We received a warm welcome from Victoria on arrival and enjoyed a very restful couple of days in the flat.
There are a lot of steps to get down.I found it too cold, but was very happy with it. Right in the centre of town.c
A delightful basement flat, tastefully decorated throughout. It was surprisingly spacious as everything was so compact - a lounge, dining room, bedroom en suite and a long flagstone hallway, leading to the kitchen and a second toilet. Parking can be tight but each time we went out, when we returned we managed to find somewhere to park.
When you arrive, you park at the front and pay the £100 deposit, then you will be given a code to access the back gate, which is the equivalent of your front door. (I didn't have any issue about paying a deposit - that seems fair enough - and it was back in my bank the day after we left).
Loved Stamford. We bought a colourful guided walk round Stamford from the tourist information office. We enjoyed the walk and the guide was very good value at £1.50.
On the day we were leaving, we were going to a wedding and Victoria very kindly allowed us a late checkout, which we negotiated in advance.
