Just back from 7 days at the Grand hotel where I took my elderly parents. I read some reviews that left me daunted at what to expect yet these were totally unjustified in our visit. In fact mum and dad had their best time in ages. On arrival our hosts were very helpfull in every way and stepped above our needs at every opportunity and were very friendly to all guests.Rooms were clean, appealing, warm and fully equiped. The cleaning staff were very friendly and helped you feel at home. Our hosts offered to make sandwiches as and when required in the evenings which was a great help with mum and dad. Nothing was too small, and all went to make mum and dads break special. Stayed in no 7 with a lovely balcony and a great view of the sea front.
Our hosts even placed extra seating so that we could all enjoy the view from the balcony. The breakfast was a treasure and even got dad eating well after a lengthy hospital stay.
Thanks to Roger and Shirley and all staff. We will be back.

Just got back from spending 3 days at The Grand, this is the 3rd time we have stayed at this hotel and will definitely go for a 4th.
We chose a sea view room and the view was second to none, we spent a few times on the balcony watching the world go by.
The room, although on the small side was ample, you don't go on holiday to sit in a hotel room and the balcony more than compensated for it, it was spotless and had everything we needed, comfy bed, flat screen TV , tea/ coffee making facilities which were replenished everyday and plenty of storage space, the en suite bathroom was lovely and clean and the shower was the best we had ever had.
Breakfast is brilliant...buffet style and eat as much as you like, it consists of fruit salad which I think contained every fruit possible, grapefruit, fruit juices, yogurt, toast, bacon, sausage, eggs, beans, tomatoes and mushrooms and a choice of tea or coffee and the waitress was lovely, I think she has a permanent smile.
The bar was lovely, it had been " done up" since the last time we went .we sat and had a drink with Roger the host who is very friendly as is his wife.

Didn't want to come home but as they say. " all good things must come to an end" but will return next holiday

Room Tip: Choose a sea view room well worth the extra

Stayed here for a couple of nights with my partner. We knew as soon as we arrived what we were in for! This place is in serious need of a makeover. It's stuck in the 1960s. Our room was dirty and the bathroom was cramped. The portable TV, the like of which I have not seen for years, was difficult to get working. On our second night, we returned to our room to find none of the lights would work. The only good thing about the room was the sea view. Not only is the décor poor but so is the welcome. The host was rather unwelcoming and is most definitely in the wrong industry. You have to be outgoing, warm and friendly to run this kind of establishment but he was most certainly not. Couldn't say good morning or smile during the breakfast service and was reluctant to serve drinks past 10.30pm at the residents bar. Breakfast was at best average. Cold toast and cheap sausages are just not good enough. For the price paid we expected much better. If you book here, be prepared to be disappointed

Stayed at the Grand Hotel recently with the wife for a night.
We paid extra to get a sea front room, and it was more than worth it. We had a balcony, and sat and watched the world go by. Overlooking the crazy golf the Grand is very centrally located for walking to all the main attractions within 10 minutes. The breakfast was ok, but not brilliant, and the breakfast room was too warm, with the heat given off from the food warmers. The Grand has a car park, but booking at peak time would be a must. The management are very friendly and extremely pleasant, and I can definitely recommend this hotel.

Room Tip: Get a room at the front, doubles have a balcony.

We stayed in room 9 whitch is very very small.
The bathroom is very small and there were pubic hairs everywhere and moled in the shower.
The kettale looked like it hadnt been cleand in years and the dust in the room you could smell it.
The room and the hotel need to move to times. The first moment you walk in the hotel there is a smell of old. The walls are very thin and we could hear both of our naghbers and people above us. The manger i think to be honest had a problem with me and my partner as we are a gay cupple when we walked in the door he gave us a hotel sheet to fill in and said your in room 9 hear r yourkeys however the lady who worked there was lovley she couldnt do enough to help.

I will give it 100% for the breakfast buffay style and you can have ceralls to yogerts to friet and cooked breakfast. I must admit i relly enjoyed that.

But because of the rooms not being up to standers i would never retern to that hotel.

Nice friendly owners. Well kept and clean. Nice little bar. Can't understand the complaints about the car park. It's small and you're getting it for nothing, and cars have to be shifted around, that's why the owners ask for the keys. Some people think they should have the car park to themselves and sod everybody else.
