“Lovely friendly hotel”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 21 July 2011

We stayed at the Karema for one night. We had two rooms next to each which was very convenient. The rooms were tastefully decorated, and very clean. The whole hotel was beautiful. The owners Gary and Pina were very welcoming and made you feel at home.
The breakfast was a very nice experience and the food was very good. The location was in a very good position, not too far from the sea front, and not too far from the town. It was very quiet, not too close to the noise of the centre.
We would have no hesitation staying there again.

Was greeted by Pina on arrival, asked how we would like to pay before we had been shown the rooms [travelled for 4 hours, really could have done with a cup of tea first] our double room was very small, consisting of a single wardrobe two bedside cabinets, bathroom if you could call it that was minute, I had to have my right leg in the shower to clean teeth and wash. My husband was putting clothes in bed side cabinet and found a dirty t- shirt, pair of socks and a pair of very unpleasant smelling ladies underwear in the draw. Complained to Pina who said 'sorry' and nothing else. Had shower in evening and morning, both times shower started off hot and then went freezing cold and then red hot, if you are taller than 5ft 6in and bigger than a size 12 you would'nt get in the shower. Car parking space for three cars. In our opinion the Karema did not justify a 4 star rating .We often go away for weekends with friends and have stayed at many guest houses in the U.K which we have said we would go back to again and have been. Breakfast is served between 8.30am and 9.00am which we all felt was too early and very limited. On a positive note the room was clean and tidy and Gary was friendly and pleasant.

Room Tip: Ask to see your room first. We had room 1

This was our first time staying in the Karema and we certainly hope it won't be our last. Gary and Pina were so welcoming and friendly, and made our stay an enjoyable one. The breakfast was delicious, a great way to start the day. With just a short walk to the sea and the town centre, yet far enough that you get no noise at night, this makes the Karema an ideal place to stay to make an enjoyable holiday in Skegness. My friend and I stayed for 2 nights at the Karema over the May Bank Holiday. The room was spotless, the area was very quiet with parking but a short walk from the seafront. Breakfast was lovely, all freshly cooked and the owners made us feel welcome.

We have returned to the Karema for the 3rd time and it gets better every time we go. Rooms are very clean and have everything you require, ensuite is excellent, breakfast in the morning is lovely. Pina and Gary are very welcoming and will help you in anyway they can. Location is great, just a short walk and you are on the sea front. Excellent parking facilities, off road parking on the front of the hotel. Will be back again.
Thanks for a lovely time

We stayed for one night after attending a show at the Embassy Centre. The owners were friendly and helpful, the room was clean and had everything we needed and the breakfast was very good. If we stay in Skegness again we will try to stay here.
