“Convenient, clean, but cramped, not as we had hoped.”
Reviewed 2 June 2014

The location of the Karema is its best feature. 5 minutes to the pier / beach, and handy for some nice Italian restaurants on Roman Bank. Adequate free parking and spotlessly clean too.
We booked at last minute for one night, and didn't want to spend too much so we were limited, however, most reviews were positive so we gave it a go.
The rooms (2 & 7) twin & double were very clean, but both en suites were extremely small and difficult to manoeuvre in. Room 2 had a pump on the toilet which was quite noisy.
The mattress in the double (7) was strange, like a memory foam but not very comfortable at all.
The bed side lights are magic, touch operation to turn on low, medium, high and off.
The breakfast was ok, but the tea and coffee were terrible. The water is ok at Skegness so not sure why the beverages were so bad. The owners were friendly enough, but we wont be rushing back!! Definitely worth spending an extra couple of quid and get extra comfort and tea and coffee you can drink.

Room Tip: Rooms in an another hotel !!

Me my partner and 6 year old stayed for 1 night. 65pound for an adjoining clean room is great value as it came with 3 tastey breakfasts. Welcomed on arrival, was called before stay to say we couldnt check out late which i thought was courtesy rather than dissapointment. Friendly clean and tidy b and b great value. For all the people moaning need to put there hand in there pocket and pay for a hotel which you still wont get the same service. People saying the rooms are too small ? They have everything you need in them we found them homely as we dont see the need to linedance in our bedroom or swing cats.

Shud read tripadvisor we also had room 9 good job we didn't take a cat the en suite was dangerous so small cracked my head on bathroom cabinet. Would have asked for another room but arrived late and was only stopping two nights breakfast too early and not long enough.

Room Tip: Check trip advisor and read reviews.

I booked two rooms at the Karema for Saturday 28 September 2013 as we were attending a family wedding in Wainfleet. Unfortunately a family member was unable to travel due to illness so I phoned to cancel one of the rooms. This was done 5 days prior to the 28th. I was informed that I would have to pay the balance in full which I did on arrival on 28th, only to discover the next day that the room had been let to somebody else. I asked the proprietor if she could refund the balance of £30 for the one room which she had filled. She refused to do so. She had received £100 for one room for one night. In the circumstances I would have thought that she could have been more obliging but as "Booking.com" said she refused to budge on the matter. So be warned if you need to cancel. In hindsight I should have asked for the key for both the rooms which I had paid for.

sorry but 4 star no chance I would say 2 star
good points yes there are a couple nice quiet area and a short walk to the front
if I was the owners I would reduce the number of rooms to make them bigger and get the plumbing renewed also get the parking sorted out still it was nice to get a break

Super hosts Pina and Craig.scrummy breakfast and very near sea and amusements.Close by is the seal sanctuary and the delightful Steak n Stuff Restaurant.Off the beaten track enough to be quiet but still near .I don't recommend the all you can eat Chinese nearby but there is a luvly Indian restaurant not too far away. Some slightly noisy people in next room and the shower is cramped but what can one expect from a place with all en suite bathrooms.Cant speak highly enough of the hosts or the simply exquisite Steak n Stuff Restaurant very close by with delightful staff.
