“Definitely "steak n stuff"!!!!”
Reviewed 8 November 2013

Me and my partner went to this restaurant recently, and I must say, everything was amazing! We walked in to a very homely atmosphere, was greeted by a polite and cheerful waitress. We was given appropriate time to decide what to eat and drink, and the waitress was very happy to serve us. The selection of food was good, and arrived to us promptly despite being busy. The food was absolutely gorgeous! The steaks were cooked to perfection for our liking, and there was generous portion sizes too! Fantastic restaurant, thank you to the ALL the staff. 10/10 :-D

“Awful meal”
Reviewed 7 November 2013

It was my birthday and hubby and I were really looking forward to a lovely meal and a good steak. We had to wait over 20 minutes for the starters to arrive, it seemed longer! The mussells were extremely small - not at all restaurant quality. We ordered ribeye steaks each, one side was as tender as anything the other side grisley, chewy and tough; it was more like a sirloin. We couldn't eat it and as the gentleman from Berkhamsted said, we left more than we ate. The onion rings were very greasy and the overall meal was greasy. Will not be returning I'm afraid.

Thank you for your review, I will cover the points you raise the Mussels do take up to 20 minutes as they are coooked from fresh in a homemade sauce, we do not see this as an unreasonable wait especially as the restaurant was full on the evening of your visit, you raised complaint on the night over the size of the Mussels as your husband commented he was a Head Chef in a top London restaurant and felt they were of an illegal size a point we refuted as they are Ocean Pearl Mussels, the Mussels are Wholeshell as you will see from our photos and not greenlip thus a difference in size, however the size of the Mussel was your only issue and only shell was left, you then raise issue with your Ribeye steak however on the night our waiting staff asked you if everything was ok with your meal and you responded yes thank you, then upon clearing your main courses you were aked again bearing in mind none of your steak was left and your only issue was once again your husband who simply complained that he felt that the Diane sauce was to creamy and not enough Brandy in it, so no issue at any point over your Steak or we could have rectified it for you, and on your final point of your onion rings being greasy are onion rings are homemade, battered and deep fried therefore they will be greasier then if they were oven cooked but as a whole our customers enjoy our Onion rings and often order extras.

“Never again”
Reviewed 29 October 2013

The meat was so tough it was unedble, and we all left more than we ate, the management apologised but that was all. It was our second visit as the first wasn't very good, but thought we would try again. There won't be a third

Thank you for your review, I am sorry that you did not enjoy your meal with us, I cook most nights and am not aware of this complaint being made, we always ask our customers if everything is ok with their meal and on the rare occasion we do have a complaint we try our best to rectify this whether it be by replacing the meal or simply offering a re-fund so on this occasion I am sorry for what ever reason this did not occur, we pride ourselves on our meals and have all year round consistent repeat custom, so it is disappointing to hear you were unsatisfied.

“A Hidden Treasure”
Reviewed 6 October 2013

This restaurant is tucked away in Skegness and we had always said we would go there 'one day' - well we went and wished we had gone earlier! It is quite small but the welcome was warm and friendly and the staff really efficient. Complimentary warm bread and butter which was delicious. The menu is really varied, not all steak, but plenty of choice and the vegetarian options looked really appetising. We were a party of 9. The mussels to start were lovely, in a cream and shallot sauce and my scampi was plump and juicy. The mains come with either chips, jacket potato or garlic mash, salad or veg. On the night we went the veg were peas, carrots cauliflower and cabbage - all red hot and cooked perfectly. The mixed grill is HUGE and the steaks all cooked to the diners choice. Desserts were lovely and I had chocolate and caramel souffle, husband had marshmallow cheesecake. The drinks are very reasonably priced too and there is a decent choice of wines. We will certainly be going here again, but be warned - you must book, people were being turned away all the time. A real find.
