Hotel no 8

Before booking at Hotel no 8, it's worth knowing that they don't serve breakfast. Sadly, I didn't get to find that out until my deposit payment had been taken and the receptionist mentioned it in passing. Too late for me to change my mind, I'd paid a deposit!

A promotion was running in February in which a £5 voucher for Wolfies Bar next door was given to each guest staying. This meant that our breakfast on Sunday was paid for, a good promotion which certainly made up for it not being served at the 'hotel'.

On entering the room, the first thing we noticed was that the room was cold - but this seems to be common in the industry these days. The radiator was very effective and the room got warm without too much of a wait.

The bathroom was clean but quite cramped.

If you're in Skegness for a short break, Hotel no 8 does fit the bill if you don't mind strolling round the corner for some breakfast. I've stayed in far worse, and probably would return.

One TripAdvisor 'blob' is lost for:
- No breakfast being available
- Cramped bathroom
- Walls so thin (as other reviewers have mentioned) that you can hear most sounds from other rooms, including some sounds you may not wish to hear.

Room Tip: Seaview of course always preferably. Despite central location and being next door to a bar, it was a...

I'm trying not to write anything negative about it it's not for me as it is very modern design but I knew that when I stayed it was for its location I picked it close to where working on the morning the room was a little cold but then again it was minus 7 outside and I don't suppose they where expecting anyone turning up as laye s i did on a snowy night the staff on reception very friendly and welcoming secure locking system on door front with same card access to room
Spotless room. And hurrah a plug for charging next to bed shower a little weak but was on top floor so understand that water was warm though
I'm sat in room now watching a cracking sunrise
Only marked it down as it was listed as band b and doesn't do breakfast saying that plent of cages near by

For a short break this hotel cannot be beaten. The staff are always very helpful and the rooms always clean. We always know what to expect when we visit (about six times now) The beds are comfortable and everything works as it should. Please ignore the negitive comments others have made and make up your own mind when you visit!

Room Tip: The sea view is worth it. You can also see the Skegness man in all his glory behind the clocktower.

We booked a kingsize sea view room for a getaway for one night. The hotel looks nice from the outside and on entering its modern and minimal, we liked our room we had an kingsize bed, tv and a leather sofa, bathroom was clean although shower not great. We were quite happy with the quality of the room and the size however it was very noisy, we could here youths outside till gone 2am and we also heard the couple next door coughing, arguing etc it didnt feel very private!

Perfect location, right on the front, good price also. No on site car parking, but we visited out of season, when you can park on the road outside for free. Would definitely pay the extra for a sea view room. Had a great meal out, got back to the hotel late and retired for the evening after midnight. Around 3am we were woken up by the couple in the room next door fighting and slapping each other, you could hear every word, the walls are very thin. Cannot blame the hotel, it is skeggie after all! but just be aware at a weekend you might not get a good nights sleep!

Room Tip: Free parking on road outside between end of September and Good Friday.

We booked two rooms for one night in this very clean and tidy hotel, we were in the area for a concert at the local theatre which was literally 50 yards down and across the road, something worth noting if anyone is doing the same thing as we were!!
We were greeted by a very friendly receptionist who explained everything to us that we needed to know, including tips on the local area.
Both rooms were at the back so not much too look at from the window, but as we were only there for one night we didnt really see the point in paying the extra for a sea view. Both rooms were spotlessly clean, although one room was disappointingly smaller than the other (112 OK, 108 smaller), again it didnt really bother us too much as only there for one night. Nice towels were provided, an LCD freeview TV, and Tea/Coffee/Hot chocolate and biscuits on the desk.
We had our own controllable radiator too.
The bed was really comfortable, I have paid twice/three times this price and had a much worse nights sleep than this was.
If you like the Travel Inn/Travelodge style place and are looking for a comfortable, clean, friendly hotel room in Skegness then this is the place for you. I'm not sure there would be anything else like this in the town.

There seem to be no branded hotels in Skegness (I do not count best western as you never know what you will get!), if you are unfortunate enough to find yourself in Skegness on work do yourself a favour and stay here! Clean and basic. Flat screen TV on wall and white bed linen. Nice staff. This is the best there is here!
