“4 night stay in skeggy”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 27 June 2014

Just had 4 comfortable nights in Greystones the beds so comfy----tea/coffee/milk was plentiful and topped up every day in your room. The bathroom very clean and a top class shower everything was great and we loved the breakfast which was very filling.,The location on the front with a wine bar (woofies) 10 metres away and local shops near by and near to the pleasure beach make this hotel a top choice when going to Skegness, Train station/coach station only a easy 20 min walk but there is plenty of taxis around Next time in Skeggy greystones will be where i will be heading for.............................................wfi as well

What a find. We arrived 3hours before check in time but this was not a problem. We were able to book in straight away. We were treated well from the start to the end of our stay. Friendly helpful staff. Lovely clean surroundings warm and quiet. Best breakfast ever. Would recommend end would definitely return.

Myself & my husband decided on a last minute night away in Skegness, arrived around 6.30pm and decided we'd stay in greystones as it looked nice and was close to all the entertainment. Upon arrival the guy who owned the place showed us out rooms, very small but clean and was ok for the 1 night, he left us without telling us about breakfast or where to find his dining room. But he seemed friendly enough. Me and my husband went and had quite a few drinks around the town and let our hair down as we've not been able to in a long while as we have to constantly care for our youngest son who has life threatening problems (so we were quite drunk). On our way back to the b&b we stopped off for a pizza to take back with us, after our pizza we went outside to have a cigarette and being drunk we'd stupidly locked ourselves out and left our key in the room!! Oh no!!! It was around 1am. We pressed the buzzer on the door for around 20mins(we didn't have coats on and was freezing plus all our belongings were in our room) so my husband banged loudly on the front door a few times, the owner finally came and open the door and asked us "what we thought we were doing" we told him we'd been for a cigarette n locked ourselves out, he then told us he was going to phone the police on us!!! I asked on what grounds? Locking ourselves out and waking him up?!!! He didn't know what to say, then his wife (who I'd not laid eyes on before) then ran upstairs screaming at us that she'd got a 2week baby downstairs and that we'd come back an hour ago and what were we playing at!!!! Huh honestly!!! Are we the first people ever to lock ourselves out??? We just walked past them and went into our room!!! And we weren't ever abusive towards them, cos I'm sure if we had we would have been kicked out. I'd advise to look for another b&b, you don't want telling off if ya upset them!!

Myself and my partner stayed 1 night at the Greystones (New Years Eve) as a last minute idea. It had a central location, on the sea front and round the corner from the bars. The staff were friendly enough but on arrival we was not shown to our room and they advised us that we needed to run the water for a few minutes for the shower to warm up and that the radiator was on intermittent throughout the day and on all night. We had room 10, which was located on the top floor, at the back. It was freezing, the radiator was not working correctly and the shower had to run for 10 minutes for it to warm up, then the water trickled out.
The hotel is in need of decoration and the full English breakfast is quite small. We would not visit this hotel again, but it was ok for the 1 night.

just got back from a weekend away with my partner, auntie and uncle when we arrived at the hotel we was welcomed by the friendly owners, got into my room my first though was wow nice clean rooms so much better than last years hotel. Food was average but nice the only problem i had was during the end of my weekend break which was when we was too ask the owners if we was ok too leave our luggage in their hotel for the day (because we had too leave the room at 10.30 and didnt get picked up until 5pm) we explained this too the owner along with that my suitcase was btoke as a wheel had fell off and i didnt want too lug it around allday and the response we got was 'well we wanted too go out tomorrow' not too me that isnt very good customer service guests should always come first after alll you are running a B&B. just the fact that we didnt get the choice too leave our luggage with them got me really frustrated and annoyed we had paid too stay in there hotel and was planning on booking again but we found them very unhelpful at this point, wasnt very professional if you ask me making your guests carry suitcases and heavy bags for hours. my second problem was when upon leaving the greystones hotel we wasnt seen too no one was around (like most of our weekend no one was around other guests agreed) they didnt see us out take our keys or anything. i also heard a woman say that they had also not seen them and did not get told when breakfast was which by then they had missed out onit at 9am 45mins for a breakfast isnt long enough 8,15-9am what sort of a time is that? we wont be booking again and found them very unhelpful was not pleased one bit with the service towards the end of my holiday. in my opinion if you cant please your guests why are you running a B&B?
