The Glendale
Ranked #41 of 93 Skegness B&B and Inns
Reviewed 25 April 2014

Myself and a group of around 8 friends piled ourselves into The Glendale Hotel in Skegness in early April. We had several rooms between us. Every one of which was very well furnished and comfortable. Our room had a double bed and a single bed (as requested) with an ample sized bathroom. Others in our party did have a rather small bathroom but don't let this deter you. Every room is fitted with a freeview television, tea/coffee/hot chocolate making facilities, table lamps etc.

There is a small car park round the back for you to use if you so wish.

What I think makes the Glendale unique is the 'themed rooms'. A member of our party had the pleasure of staying in the Elvis Presley room. Whether or not they cost extra I don't know but I wouldn't rush to book one if they do, a couple of pictures of the King himself and a guitar is, apparently, theming enough.

They offer a full english breakfast every morning, with toast and tea/coffee, as well as cereal and orange juice.

As you'd expect there are a couple of 'ground rules'. No drinking/smoking/eating in rooms and, obviously, don't make noise!

The hotel is situated about a 5 minute walk from Skegness town centre and the beach with many restaurants and shops. I should note, there isn't a swimming pool or a fitness centre.

I'd highly recommend the Glendale. A very comfortable and enjoyable stay was experienced by all.

We couldn't fault a thing. Nothing was too much trouble. Location was perfect. Not a problem with parking. Themed rooms are a great idea. Everywhere was clean and really comfortable. Yummy breakfast. Our dog Bruno came with us and they even gave him sausage and bacon for breakfast. Thanks so much we hope to be back soon :0) x

Owners were very friendly and accomodating. We stayed for two nights great with kids and thought the room was fantastic.some small issues such as towel rail not very sturdy however nothing to cause any major irritation. Would go back.:)

Very pleasant hosts and a good breakfast. The back yard parking area could do with a tidy. It's a bit like Steptoe's yard.

The room was ok for a short stay. It wouldn't be suitable for longer as there is no storage for clothes at all. No draws and no hanging space.

Reasonable budget B&B for the price.
