Lovely little Restaurant in a village about 5 miles from the typical seaside restaurant. Run by John et al who are very friendly and happy to help. A sit in the lounge on the comfy Sofas while looking at the menu and then a very nice intimate dining room.
Complimentary Soup, Cheese and Cauliflower -obviously home made and tasty lovely, with chunky fresh bread and butter. There were various starters, including hot and garlic prawns which were very much as described and Garlic Mushrooms again very tasty. The mains consisted of dishes containing Salmon, Steaks, Chicken, Pork and Lamb. The steaks cooked to perfection, the chicken very tender in a 3 bean sauce and 3 large pieces of pork were had. Couldn't fault any of the mains, all with plenty of new potatoes, roast pots, chips (with the steak) and cauliflower, Broccoli and Carrots. Out of the sweets we tried Brandy baskets with cream and fruit, Tiramissu, Treacle Sponge and Meringue and again no-one had any complaints. The cost of the 3 course meal was fantastic for the quiet setting, quality of fresh food, quantity and service. Definitely will return if in the area. Its a £10 taxi ride from the sea-front, about 5 miles.
