we booked a last minute one night stay in Skegness, and we were so lucky to book the last available room in this lovely hotel. The welcome was warm and friendly, the room extremely comfortable and nicely decorated, and very clean; and the breakfast was one of the best we have had in this type of accommodation. would definitely return.

Had a lovely couple of days in Skegness. All enhanced by staying in the Kildare. Room was excellent, clean tidy with enough room. You cannot fault the breakfast with cereal fruit salad yoghurts full english etc etc. The hotel is far enough away from the main drag so you don't get noise etc but near enough that it is a short stroll away. Proprietors were very helpful and cheerfull.

Room Tip: Room 5 is good en-suite. first floor. also at the back.

At the last minute my hubby a I decided to book a couple of days away in Skegness a bit of a time out on searching we came across this hotel by chance and the only room available was the small double after a little chat we decided to give it a go it was only to lay our heads after all...once there we received a very warm genuine welcome and was shown to our room not knowing what to expect we was very pleasantly surprised the room was fine had its own little en suite too but then we were told that right opposite our room was our own personal bath room to compensate for the room size which was fab!!!! everything was spotless and the whole place smelt clean and fresh we were then shown the dining room which was large then to the patio area what a little haven this was... lovely for a smoker to sit out or just for a drink and relax, we filled out the breakfast request and retired, next morning we went for breakfast this was great fresh fruit, cereals, yoghurts and then a FULL English and what a great brekky it was all cooked by ray the owner and on his 65th birthday too!!! with Joyce his wife doing all the serving and keeping everyone smiling and happy ................so all in all if you want a great hotel with lovely owners and a fab breakfast this is the place for you ......WELL DONE TO YOU BOTH KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK YOU DO ..............AND THANKS A MILLION........ the Clarks x ,

After a bad year last year, we were looking forward to our fortnight away . The welcome from Joyce & Ray was as warming as always , the room which was a family room was fantastic as usual, clean and bright and the food was superb also. The service from both Joyce & Ray and assisted by Beth was friendly and funny. the weather was fantastic, the amenities are within walking distance from the hotel, plenty of bars, restaurants, shops and the sea-front. Spent most of the our daytime at the beach and the night time frequenting the amusements, the Embassy Theatre and the Suncastle and the fish & chip shop. Our first week was carnival week with lots of things to see and competitions to enter. We enjoy are stay so much we book for the summer while we are there , this makes it our fifth year of stopping at the Kildare Hotel.

Room Tip: The hotel is situated on a quiet residential street.

stayed two nights last week at the Kildare, we received a warm friendly welcome on arrival. we stayed in a deluxe double room with a beautiful large bathroom and could not fault the cleanliness of it.
The breakfast was superb and the location was only a short walk into Skegness. Would love to stay again but next time for longer. joyce and ray the owners, what a lovely couple. from mr and mrs Beardsley, Belper, Derbyshire.

Room Tip: deluxe says everything

Well, where to start?

My Wife and I had been planning a special weekend for many weeks and so began looking for a suitable location to lay our weary bones after the partying was done, at say around 5 o'clock in the mornings.
We wanted value for money, ideal location and a friendly atmosphere.
Hard to find you may think? Not on your life.
Using Tripadvisor my Wife and I decided to give Kildare Hotel a trial.
Booking was exceptionally easy and I spoke with Joyce on the telephone to organise the room we wanted as well as to leave the required deposit. All was well and our room was booked and so on Friday my Wife and I made our way.

The location of the Kildare Hotel is ideal for every part of Skegness being 5 minutes from Tesco's and all entertainment venues.

Immediate parking is a struggle due to the fact that it is a residential street but not impossible.
The Kildare does boast parking facilities but these are obviously only as big as the property and so Ray & Joyce have done the best they can.

We arrived slightly later than check in to be greeted warmly by Joyce at the door who immediately cracked a joke which broke the ice and she then welcomed us into her establishment.
My Wife and introduced ourselves and although tired from our journey found the atmosphere of the Kildare refreshing.
The Hotel was spotlessly clean and fresh, in fact so clean that not a surface had any dust on it. At the door was a DIY drinks cooler with an honesty box placed on top, this meant that at 5am when my Wife and I returned I could purchase a can of Lemonade without disturbance to anyone else.
So we were shown to our room, number 9, by Ray, once payment had been made.
The room was immaculate, the bed, linen, carpet, blinds, curtains and floor were spotless and sufficient linen was provided.
We unpacked and began preparation for our evening out.

The bedroom furniture was in perfect condition and it was funny to find the same style of furniture as we have at home. The furniture had no wobbles or loose fittings anywhere.

Now for the only problem that I can mention.
Unfortunately, on the first evening, we found that the shower in room 9 had a poor flow rate and it made showering slightly awkward. However, the following day I found that part of the shower was missing so I plugged the hole with toilet roll and packed it in. This improved the flow rate sufficiently to enable us to have a refreshing shower.
I did forget to let Joyce know.

Arriving back to the Hotel at 5am, naughty naughty, we were too tired to enjoy our breakfast the first day. We slept well on a wonderful bed and were not even disturbed by the cleaner on his/her rounds.

Even though we had missed the linen exchange Ray provided us with new linen.

The Hotel itself was very quiet and unlike some others my Wife and I had visited in Skegness it did not suffer from any loutish behavior and the street it was located on was quiet.

We had a chance to enjoy a breakfast on the morning of our departure and were not disappointed. We had our choice of cereals and tea was provided, although for some reason my Wife did not have a great appetite...cannot think why..lol
For the main breakfast we had chosen a full English and I have to state that Kildare gives the best quality of fully cooked breakfast of all the Skegness hotels I have stayed in. It was very well cooked, it was hot and it tasted delicious. Joyce asks all guests to fill in a breakfast request form at check in and we found this convenient as we knew our choice would be ready and waiting.

So to conclude:

If you want an excellent hotel, a clean hotel, a hotel ideally located, a great nights sleep, entertaining and considerate hosts, great food and much much more then you really have only one choice,
GO AND BOOK THE KILDARE HOTEL.

Thank you Ray and Joyce for ensuring that my Wife and I had a magical weekend.
Rated every mark as excellent because it was just so.

We will be back....can you cope???...lol

Room Tip: We chose room number 9.
