“Home from home”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 21 December 2013

A delayed review so apologies. We booked in for 2 nights B&B basis and upon arrival were greeted by the owners. Immediately you were treated as one of the family particularly as the hotel is just like someone's own home. Our room was clean and tidy with en-suite and comfortable beds however we did feel that the room was a little dowdy and could do with a refreshing coat of paint. The meals are all prepared by the owners and whilst not upto a higher restaurant level are basic, filling and very tasty. Breakfast is included and evening meal can be provided if required for an additional sum. The owners provide a hilarious backdrop when serving up meals which breaks the ice with other residents and not long after everyone is chatting to each other. We would certainly recommend the Kildare to anyone for good value and we would certainly return if we found ourselves in the area again.

Room Tip: Book early as we found that due to the popularity of the hotel the rooms seem to be snapped up early...

Stayed 2nd to 5th September.
Thank you for a wonderful stay Joyce & Ray. Not only ourselves but everyone in the hotel were cared for on a personal level. Organising the mobility scooter for Dad ( and Sue!) was a lovely thought. It's great that you have a stair lift to the 1st floor too. Everywhere was spotlessly clean & the food excellent. Great home cooking Ray, as was proved by the clean plates! So much breakfast we didn't need lunch. 3 course evening meals were terrific.
We'd not been to Skegness before and the hotel is really convenient for all the attractions of this beautiful resort. Loads to do for all ages. Nice and flat too, such a bonus for elderly or infirm holidaymakers.
Sorry we only stayed 3 nights but we will be back next year for a longer stay for sure.

Thank you Joyce and Ray for a lovely 2 night stay for myself and my two troublemakers! You made our stay in Skegness complete. The hotel is well appointed and centrally located, a short walk to the town. Great breakfasts, parking facilities, lovely clean rooms and facilities topped off with the great sense of humour and kindness of the 2 hosts. We certainly couldn't ask for any more and look forward to making a return visit. Would recommend to anyone visiting Skegness who needs to have an overnight or extended stay.

Stayed at The Kildare Hotel 10th & 11th Sept 2013, clean, cozy and comfortable. Ray & Joyce are great hosts and Joyce has a smashing sense of humor. Location is ideal for all that Skegness has to offer and all within a ten minute stroll, all in all a lovely place to stay.

Room Tip: Room 10 is small, but you get the added bonus of an extra bathroom all to yourselves as well as an e...

My husband booked the hotel for a 2 night break away for us and we was so impressed we didn't want to come home and booked another night there and still didnt want to come home , as soon as you enter the whole place smells clean and fresh and the owners couldn't have been any more welcoming they really do go the extra mile to make you feel welcome and nothing is too much trouble for them , as soon as you arrive you feel like friends rather than guests . My husband booked a twin room by mistake but the owner didnt have a problem with us pushing the beds together and she actual suggested it to us there was fresh towls waiting on the bed for us and the bathroom was so clean and fresh I couldn't wait to get into the shower they also provide every toiletry you would ever need even down to cotton wool balls I was amazed the bathroom and rooms are modern and immaculate we stay in Skegness a lot as my husbands parents have a bungalow there and this way by far the best hotel we have stayed in we stayed in the grand a few weeks ago and I would defiantly recommend this hotel above the grand the beds are amazing and we had the best nights sleep we've ever had in a hotel , the owners are a real comedy act and have you smiling and laughing all through your stay ... I will defiantly be booking again !! There amazing ppl who know how to run a hotel for the guests and not just as a buisness
