My partner and I have just returned from a three night stay at the Consort Hotel....firstly the positives - all the staff we had dealings with we're very pleasant and helpful...particularly the Reception staff...we too had issues with the Wifi, so much so that we were given several other room keys to try (whilst walking with our iPad) to see where the strongest signal was....we eventually ended up at the far end of the hotel in one of the 'Suites' ....this was a lovely large room albeit quite dated and if I dare say...very clean in some places and not in others! One of the face cloths looked like it had been used to clean with bleach as it had white stains all over it.....the White bath towels (lovely size) had marks all over them some of which looked like makeup that hadn't quite come off.....the shower head didn't seem to fit the holder correctly and needed some
adjustment to stop water from overflowing over the top of the shower head itself but a lovely powerful and hot shower once sorted.
There was a constant 'Hum' from either outside or below us which we assume was something to do with the kitchen? It didn't stop us from sleeping and we got quite used to it but some people may find it a little bit annoying...particularly if you were paying full price for that room!
The Wifi seems to be a real problem in this hotel as most of the reviews mention it somewhere....perhaps it would be better to say that wifi is available in reception and leave it at that? at least then if people were able to connect in their room it would be a bonus for them and if not they would know that they had to sit in the reception area to access it?
When visiting family we would stay here again but would definately check the Wifi first as unfortunately even on holiday we still have to run our business and need internet access.
