“Finally got to see the inside of this piece of history”
Reviewed 15 April 2014

Absolutely fascinated with this house and it's history and couldn't believe it when it was finally open to the public. Booked my house tour tickets, wasn't disappointed a very informative tour and bob the guide who has been at the house since he was a nipper adds a unique insight.

“Disappointing Experience”
Reviewed 7 April 2014

I paid to take my mum for a Mother's Day gift and we were very disappointed by the experience. The part of the house we were shown was very much in need of repair. Very little to look at other than architecture on the walls - very little furniture in each of the rooms, most having no furniture at all.

Whilst it isn't advertised as a fully furnished tour, I would have expected there to be something, similar to Chatsworth.

My advice would be to view the beautiful house from the exterior and leave your imagination to do the rest, as my bubble has definitely burst.

Thank you for taking the time to review Wentworth Woodhouse. Whilst we appreciate all comments, it is important to note that we have not advertised Wentworth Woodhouse as being fully furnished, far from that actually. It is our hope that once the house has been made stable, many of the furnishing may be brought back on loan. Until then Wentworth Woodhouse offers the public a fantastic opportunity to watch the re-birth of this grand and historic home.

“Interesting grand house to visit”
Reviewed 2 April 2014 via mobile

Well, what can I say. I never thought I would get to see inside this amazing and beautiful stately home. The Fitzwilliam tour was money well spent, the rooms visited (some still in a great need of repair) were interesting and the guide was informative. I really hope the renovations continue so that this fabulous grand old house can truly get on the tourist map and become the crown jewel tourist attraction for not just South Yorkshire but the north of England as it so deserves.

“Amazing history, awesome house, beautiful village”
Reviewed 28 March 2014

Biggest private house in the UK, longest facade in Western Europe, home to a prime minister, home to the lover of JFK's sister, near Rotherham??? Don't be ridiculous, that can't be right. Well it is. I don't even think the owners understand how important this place is. Go see it now before it sinks or before it get's turned into a major attraction/hotel full of Asian tourists and it loses it's mystery.
