a great piece of theatre, not quite what we expected, but you dont go to a play because you can predict what will happen, do you? well done Mercury, you rarely disappoint. ps loved the interaction between the professional actors and the community theatre.

Saw this production last night, absolutely brilliant!
Again the Mercury has put on an excellent play, the stage set and interpret was so cleverly done. Truly atmospheric of the era

“Very nice theatre”
Reviewed 19 April 2014 via mobile

I have always enjoyed my time at the mercury. The range of shows have always been very good and the theatre itself is very nice. The views are good from most areas apart from the side at the back.
Excellent staff too make it a good experience.

“A high-standard regional theatre”
Reviewed 16 April 2014

Our local theatre is just inside our Roman walls next to the main Roman gateway into the town. It has an excellent range of plays and musicals throughout the year. At Christmas/New Year there is always a pantomime. In school holidays there are good things aimed at children/families. We go to most things The theatre seats about 500 people - small enough to feel you are close to the action and large enough to meet demand. Some people travel miles to come to it. It is always good value for money, but not too expensive by theatre standards.
