Incredible old building, so impressive from the outside. Nice friendly ladies doing the admissions and rooms. Absolutely fascinating place. Nice gardens where you can challenge yourself to a game of croquet on the lawn too........... Would definitely go back. No parking there though, but beautiful little village around it, you should explore that too

Spent 90 minutes going around Paycockes, especially the garden...well it was a sunny day. Lots of knowledge from the room steward and an excellent tea room at the rear of the property selling tea and cakes. The rest of Coggeshall is worth a visit too. Fair selection of second hand books on sale at Paycockes also.

A National Trust must visit!

A really lovely house, and garden, very interesting rooms, and insight into the wealth of the original owner. The garden is very nice.

Went on a Free Day and was very surprised at how interesting it was especially letters from previous Occupants also hidden carvings in the ceiling that were pointed out by a very friendly guide. Lovely gardens and plants for sale also cafe and secondhand books for sale.
