Stopped here for one night last week during travelling.
Would not hesitate to recommend this Premier Inn.
The staff were very friendly, room was comfortable, clean and warm. Great location too, right in the centre of Colchester.

Four of us stayed here, we had a room each for 3 nights. we were visiting Colchester for a family party. Very comfortable clean rooms. Mattress just right for me , not too soft or hard. Great shower , very quiet at night,no noise. Breakfast was extra, we got full English, good but not hot enough for me , but they gave it a quick flash in microwave and I was happy with that. Would definitely recommend this place

I have and will stay here many times and usually there is a really nice foreign girl at reception but this time was a girl who obviously didn't want to be there and certainly didn't want to serve me. No smile. Nothing. Didn't even look at me when she spoke to me. Not a great experience this time. I couldn't see her name badge or I would post it here.

Very friendly and efficient welcome considering how late we were, we had pre -booked parking so this was not an issue, the car park is small.
The room was nice, slightly smaller than the older style hotels and the shelf beside the mirror and hair dryer had shrunk again, (no space for straighteners or makeup bag), and the mirror is set high, so it was obviously a male who designed the set up.
There was no bath, but a nice big walk in shower, the bathroom extract was very noisy, but went off once the bathroom light was turned off. There is AC, but the window does not open.
The bed was not as comfortable as usual, a bit hard, and a definite depression where everyone sits on the edge.
Breakfast was good, check out excellent and they loaned an iron and ironing board, when requested..

New hotel so as you would expect clean and fresh. Great location for a walk into the centre. Parking is an issue as the carpark is very small and surrounded by roads with parking restrictions, there is an NCP a short walk away but it has height restrictions
