We were only in Carlisle for one night, but had driven past Alexandros earlier in the day and had commented that it had a nice look to it.... positioned at the end of the road and on the corner; not realising that there was a Deli attached to it also.
We hadn't booked a table, but it was a Tuesday and around 7.00pm so thought we would be ok, that was only just the case and we were were extremely lucky to have been offered a table for two. I highly recommend you book.
The staff here are all very polite, attenuative and extremely nice...especially (I believe he was the owner) the man that served us on our initial order, he was very helpful to my wife with recommendations.... if so, then this was Aris and he was the perfect gentleman and host.
I ordered the Karotokretes - and was blown away by the amazing flavours and tastes, the dish was amazing for what you could describe as just meat balls in sauce, but do not be fooled - I would order this again every time, notwithstanding the incredible quality of this dish the flavours are out of this world - the chef must have an incredible pallet to create such a lasting tasting experience - my wife ordered the Kotopoulo Souvlkai - lets say it was chicken, potatoes and carrots..... but again it wasn't, because someone in the kitchen had transformed these three ingredients into a mouth watering explosion...... we also both had starters, home made bread and a side of garlic pitta bread and then finished off with a starter each.....but I'll say no more here, you need to book a table and experience this place.
You will not be disappointed.
