The museum is inside the inner castle grounds and displayed over a couple of stories. The collection covers generations of warfare from the last century until recent times. The entry is free and having paid for the entry to the castle - have a look!! There was staff there on the day we visited to answer questions should they arise.

it needs your support and can give you a real insight into military life and how it changed over the years for one and then two regiments. Well worth a look.

There is so much here, all so very poignant. The most moving item, I felt, was the WWI recruiting poster, appealing to boy scouts to volunteer to be slaughtered.

Great place to visit, to see the hundreds of years of history of the men from the fells, the battles they fought, the honours they won. Sad that they only exist within the Duke of Lancaster's Regiment now but the tradition and spirit remains.
