“An asset to history”
Reviewed 14 August 2013

Currently in the process of moving to bigger premises, there is an astonishing collection of memorabilia which deserves to be displayed and shared. Fascinating and the highlight of our visit to Carlisle Castle.

“If Your into Military History..........”
Reviewed 14 August 2013

The museum is inside the inner castle grounds and displayed over a couple of stories. The collection covers generations of warfare from the last century until recent times. The entry is free and having paid for the entry to the castle - have a look!! There was staff there on the day we visited to answer questions should they arise.

“in the castle”
Reviewed 29 July 2013

it needs your support and can give you a real insight into military life and how it changed over the years for one and then two regiments. Well worth a look.

“A moving reminder of the futility of war”
Reviewed 18 May 2013

There is so much here, all so very poignant. The most moving item, I felt, was the WWI recruiting poster, appealing to boy scouts to volunteer to be slaughtered.
