After hearing it had re-opened after a long time of being closed, we decided to go and see what it was like. We should of stayed at home!
When we arrived the waitress greeted us with a simple " I won't be a moment" and never returned! We were left standing at the bar until i decided to have a look around myself and find somewhere to sit. It wasn't even busy, so goodness knows what the service would of been like had it of been. The young bar man came to our rescue and showed us where we could sit. We sat down and then waited for our menus, the waitress brought the menu and took our order for drinks (after waiting a while). I then had to go to the bar, as no-one came back, to ask for a childrens menu. She muttered something under her breath and disappeared again to return with a used (children get to colour it in) childrens menu. She said i would have to use that one as it was the last one and they needed to print off some more off the computer! So my son was a bit disappointed to find he was given someone elses colouring and couldn't partake in his own! However, we ordered 2 carverys and a kids fish fingers. The carvery was cold and the carrots tasted horrible (not sure if they were off or out of a tin). I asked for mash potato for my son and they were the boiled potatoes from the carvery mashed badly with a fork. His carrots were hard, cold and most of them not peeled properly.
We did tell the waiter when he finally came to our table that i wasn't happy with the carrots and that our food was cold and he said he would mention it to the chef. No other action, apology or discount of the bill was offered!
Hasten to add we were very disappointed with our visit to the Metal Bridge and won't be returning and can't recommend it when we had bad service and bad food.
