We stayed for one night while cycling Hadrians Way.It is very clean with our bikes safely locked away. The hostel is in a great spot by the cathedral, easy to walk into town for drinks or to eat.We where in a dormitory on the top bunks, it was a bit tight ,and difficult to know where to put your bags.Showers and toilets where brilliant .Jonathen the owner is keen to advise and is welcoming.
There wasnt any local meths drinkers outside as we envisaged , it was a cheap budget stay for one night.

Room Tip: I would try to avoid the dormitory it is too small, very awkward plus the top bunks are difficult.Th...

Situated just a couple of minutes' walk from the Cathedral, this quite new hostel is run by a lovely couple who were keen backpackers. It surely makes a difference as the place has been thought for cash-strapped backpackers in need of decent service. Great budget place where you really feel welcome.

Three of us stayed there during our Hadrians Wall walk. After camping all week it was great to sleep in a clean and comfortable bed. Its in the heart of the city, very clean, comfortable and cheap. Go there you won't be disappointed!

This was by far the best hostel we stayed in during our recent road trip. Great facilities (free tea and coffee and wifi) and a really homely personal touch. Clean, modern and beautifully presented, an excellent find for what we paid. Little things like free food and toiletries left by previous travellers were a real bonus. Would highly recommend.

Clean rooms, comfortable beds, central location, great owners, AND free tea and coffee--what else could you ask for, really? This might just be because I stayed in the off season, but it was also one of the quietest hostels I've been in. Not sure if it's because it's on a side street with not a lot of other businesses? Or because it was February. But either way, that definitely helped me sleep well.

I was only in Carlisle for one night but could not have picked a friendlier, more convenient place to stay. The room was clean and comfortable, and all facilities were of top quality. I would recommend.
