The Premier Inn Carlisle Central was our first experience in staying in a Premier Inn and I was very impressed as I really didn't know what to expect from this chain. The highlight of this Hotel would have to be the lovely Receptionist whose name I unfortunately do not know but it was either Irish or Welsh in origin and not a name I have come across before. She was very cheerful and greeted us every time we passed by Reception. Our room was very quiet and comfortable. We opted to do a Breakfast and Dinner package when we arrived but I would recommend not eating at the Brewers Fayre Restaurant attached to the Hotel. It took an hour and 15 mins for us to receive our meals and we believe that one of our meals was cooked and placed in a warmer while our other meal was cooked. This resulted in a very rubbery steak. The entire time we were there children were running through the restaurant (quite a few of them coughing) and were also running through the buffet area barefoot. On one occasion one child nearly ran into a waiter. There was also a bin overflowing onto the floor near the counter area and the staff were constantly walking past the rubbish and not doing anything about it. We had children with us but it wasn't hard to keep them entertained at the table! I'm not sure how much of a close connection the Premier Inn has with the Brewers Fayre so I would probably not let my comments influence you to not stay at the Premier Inn, but rather that you decline eating in the Brewers Fayre Restaurant while there.

Faultless and thoughtful, down to the spare nappy sack left for us in the bathroom! Had a pleasant one night stay here, nice big room, with double, two single beds and a cot made up for us. Asked for a quiet room, and given one on top floor of a block to the side of the main block, had a quiet night (apart from our 3 yr old waking us up at 3am to tell us it was raining in her house!). Pleasantly surprised to find there was a play area adjoining the restaurant too, where we had our evening meal - service was fantastic, meals came very quickly, and whilst they weren't exactly gourmet and slightly congealed looking they tasted good. Our daughter was over the moon to find that we were staying at a purple hotel too (it's her favourite colour). Perfect place to break our two day journey to Scotland, would come here again if we're ever up that way. In fact our Premier Inn experience whilst away has been so positive we are planning to meet friends who live in Scotland in a Premier Inn half way between us (south west) and them every year in future!

We stayed here at short notice with our family of 6 when we were driving from Scotland to London. We took 2 rooms and and found the accommodation very comfortable. Rooms were large and extra bedding was provided (fold out bed and a cot). The highlight for us was the indoor play centre attached to the bistro where we ate our evening meal. The kids could run around while we enjoyed a glass of wine and a beer. All in all a pleasant place to stay in a handy location.

Room Tip: If you want interconnecting rooms, make sure you book in advance.

The Premier Inns are a perfect place to stay. We had traveled from Edinburgh and it was great to find the Inn with restaurant attached. We were so thankful we did not have to find somewhere else to eat. They had excellent meal packages to add to our room rate. The room was clean and spacious enough with everything we needed. The staff were all excellent. We felt it was really good value for money.

First time stay at a Premier Inn... We usually pay over the odds for 4*, and get rubbish
service. Hotel room and bathroom exceptionally clean and fresh. Staff very friendly
Really good value for money. Only downside breakfast was a little on the cool side
And there was a 15 min wait for croissants. Would definatley return again.

Stayed here for a mid-week break - handy for visiting the Lakes. Comfortable, spacious room, bathroom with bath - not just a shower. Co-located restaurant had excellent deals on good quality meals. Staff very friendly and helpful. 30 mins free Wi-fi - although speed and connectivity was not great. Plenty of parking. Would stay here again.
