I have stayed in Premier inns before, the rooms are always of a good standard and staff always ok but this place excells the others particularly within the pub attached, food is hot and would seem to be freshly prepared rather than kept warm for a week as at other premier pubs, very close to the motorway without a sound coming through to our room. Staff attentive and give the impression of being interested in you as well as content in their jobs. Ideally situated just off the M6 for travel to scotland after a day at work, and with a Premier offer of £29 per room at this time of year what more could you want!!!

First time at this P inn used most of others in area on way up to Scottish ski centres This is a former Holiday Inn so a little diff from most Prem Inns - we had a big family room for 4 stacks of room but long walk! Great check in on a busy Friday night we ate at night and breakfast in the hotel's Thyme restaurant - good fare and a good evening meal deal at £12.50 for 2 courses. Breakfast £16 for 2 but kids ate free - was very busy on Saturday morning but again good fare and staff were doing there best to restock - will definitely stay here again - tip there is a very large Asda about 2 mins from hotel on same retail park - cheapest petrol around Area but only a self serve garage.

This is a well-run, friendly, clean hotel on a very convenient pitch for getting around Carlisle, and in our case linking up with the A69, road back to Newcastle Airport.

The reception team are all good to deal with, happy to help and this makes for a pleasant stay. On our first night we said to Amy on reception that our room was very cold. She willingly offered to get a heater for us and put it on in our room whilst we were out. Both Jackie and Jennifer are very good also on reception.

Our room was very quiet, even though it was on the ground floor and was cleaned to a high standard throughout our 3 day stay, we had room 22, our sons 24.

What we liked about the room in particular were the abundance of decent lighting fitments, the well-light mirror, the 40 inch plus Samsung wall-hung tv and the general standard of the decor.

What we didn't like was the unacceptably long delays for our food on Thursday and Friday evenings of 2 1/4 hours and over 1 1/2 hours respectively. Saturday was a much more reasonable length of time of not much more than an hour - all for a 3 course "meal deal". Very poor show overall. The menu is already restricted for "meal deals" and in addition we were informed each night of 2 or 3 items "not available" from this restricted menu.

The breakfasts, in contrast, were excellent, plenty of choice, together with friendly, efficient service.

If they can't do better than our experiences of the meal deals, then I would recommend taking the £8.25 all-you-can-eat breakfasts and source an evening meal elsewhere - there are plenty of decent value eateries and caverys in the City, and mostly for less than the £14.74 per person extra cost of the "meal deal" evening meal.

I would definitely recommend staying at this venue, food issues aside.

Stayed here overnight on our way to Scotland. This was our second stay here and we were really happy here again. The hotel is clean and staff are all great. We had a lovely evening meal and were looked after very well by the waiter, Toll. Nothing was too much trouble for him and the meal was very good too as was the breakfast the next morning. The receptionist was also lovely and very kind to my Mother in law who was ill the last time we stayed here.

We selected this Premier Inn for convenience out of four in the Carlisle area.
Although it is located just off the M6, it is poorly signposted with a purple Premier Inn banner which is difficult to spot in the dark, and an access road that doesn't look as if it leads anywhere.
Eating facilities are in a separate building from the bedrooms so, as Premier Inns go, this isn't in the top bracket. Bedrooms are the standard you would expect, with a 5ft bed and a standard bathroom, both spotlessly clean. The pub offers standard pub grub, nothing exceptional but neither food nor drinks overpriced. However, what this establishment lacks is more than compensated for by the excellence of its staff. From reception to housekeeping, all were friendly and eager to help and the pub manager exemplary.
At £75 for bed & breakfast for two it didn't represent outstanding value but, if you get a good deal, you'll be sure of a very warm welcome here.

Room Tip: Ask for a quiet room on the side furthest from the motorway.
