You've seen them in Cell Block H, they are there in good ol' Porridge. .... now you too can experience of a prison cell at this Premier. In room 32A, you have all the usual fitments of a Premier Inn with the added feature of a windowless cell. High up on one wall is an opening allowing the minimum of light and air just like in all those prison dramas. On a hot evening, the place is airless, you can pace the room but not look out unless you stand on as chair. Feel enclosed, feel cut off from the outside world, experience room 32A. It makes leaving in the morning that little bit more enjoyable!

Great room for us to get a good nights sleep in and then the breakfast in the morning to get you going for the day. Just what was expected no more no less. Stayed at this Premier Inn now on three occasions and its been great on each occasion. We will probably stay there again next year on our way up to Scotland.

Stayed here for one night on the way to Scotland. The hotel was easy to find with plenty of parking and the usual friendly staff, and the room was clean and fresh. I didnt eat at the connected restauraunt. There is some motorway noise, as would be expected, but it is subdued and I did not find it a problem.

But my room, no 32A, did not have a proper window, only a ventilation opening set high up on the wall, which made that particular room rather claustrophobic. Had I been staying for more than one night i would have asked for a different room, but it was ok for one night. Other rooms in the hotel seem to have normal windows.

But for this issue, I would have given it 5 stars

Very good hotel, friendly staff and very welcoming. From the moment that we arrived the staff made us feel very welcomed. Their knowledge of the area was first class and were more than willing to advise on attractions to visit.

Stayed here for a couple of days nearly 3 years ago..couldnt put exact date because it wouldnt let me... our stay was everything you'd expect from a premier inn...quiet, great sleep, clean and tidy rooms.. just what we wanted. We only sleep there as we come on holiday so use premier inns to travel around the country. Usually a couple of nights here then move on to another area for a couple of nights. We have gone from cornwall to kingslynn to newcastle to cumbria this wayover the past 10 years. We find the better ones are usually the ones with the pubs attached next door or across the car parks. We arent looking for the extras a lot of people want and expect. the pub next door was fantastic. Our meals were great. Service excellent. Just what you want when youve had a hard day driving and exploring the countryside and lakes...

Stayed here after driving up M6. Really close to motorway but no noise from traffic. Recommend the meal deal for dinner/breakfast. Excellent choice and service. Rooms appear to be recently refurbished with day bed in the family room. Used the back road via Dalston to avoid town centre if you need to be west of the city. Nothing else there so is quite isolated but would stay there again.

Despite proximity to M6 we had a great nights sleep here. Reception staff very friendly and helpful. The following night was spent in a more expensive hotel in a rural location, but we were kept awake well after midnight by wedding party. All hotels should have good night guarantee!
