OUTSTANDING: We have just spent a wonderful week in Ballater and stayed at Granville. This was a an incredibly comfortable, spacious ‘home’ that was superbly decorated, traditionally furnished and provided lots of comfortable indoor and outdoor space that squired our 3-generation party perfectly. As a holiday let, Granville was faultless, we were in a quiet spot but just a short stroll from the village and riverside walks which Wilf and Tommy (our spaniels) really enjoyed. The owners were a delight to deal with. We would recommend a visit to this beautiful area and should this opportunity be realised, we hope that like us, you too will be lucky to stay at Granville. We hope to return!
We stayed with friends for four nights in March and used Granville as our base for exploring the area. The house was amazing, two receptions, large kitchen diner, four bedrooms and two bathrooms ... and equipped with everything you could ever need! We particularly enjoyed a nightcap or two at the wood burner in the lounge! Ballater is a lovely village with shops and restaurants within walking distance. Granville highly recommended!
Recently visited this lovely house with our friends.
Perfect location for touring round Deeside and Cairngorm national park.
The house is in the pretty town of Ballater close to shops pubs and restaurants.
Fiona the host was great and everything you could need was in the house.
Beautiful decor, fabulous kitchen two large reception rooms and four excellent bedrooms.
The garden was big with lots of seating areas, totally secure for children and dogs.
Lovely and cosy too the new wood burner was a real bonus.
One of the best air bnb houses we have ever stayed in.
Just returned from a week at Granville House in Ballater with family and friends.
We found the property by chance last year searching the Internet for suitable accommodation near “The Lecht” ski resort.
The house is absolutely brilliant and Neil & Fiona were brilliant to deal with from start to finish.
The house is a wonderful base for the Cairngorms and while we were unable to ski due to the fact that Scotland is going through the warmest February since records began we visited Aberdeen, Peterhead, Braemar and Mar Lodge to name a few.
The house is so well renovated we did not want to leave this morning. It’s got everything you need and Neil and Fiona even left us Shortcake biscuits and milk etc in the fridge when we arrived. It’s a really nice touch which we appreciated.
It’s fully centrally heated, the beds are super and the open fire in the lounge was great for cosy evenings on front of the TV. There are plenty of DVDs, books and games there should you want them.
The house has ample parking outside and the street is so quiet - just a stones throw from the local golf club. It really felt like we were staying somewhere special.
It’s just a two or three minute walk into the village which has pubs, a co op shop Restaurants and a great Indian restaurant called “The Indian on the green” - the service there was excellent.
The house was spotless and has been finished to a really high spec. Huge fridge and freezer in the kitchen and a great dish washer.
We ordered a delivery from Tesco’s home delivery service for the evening we arrived which arrived bang on time and nothing was missed from the order we had made which was great.
All the fresh bread and other fresh essentials we bought each day from the bakery and the local co-op which was really well stocked.
Some lovely local shops and a super butchers right at the end of the road - the sausages and bacon from them was super quality.
For a family holiday in a really special property this would take some beating!!
We would not hesitate to recommend Granville House to family and friends. We would love to stay again ourselves.
The open plan kitchen was brilliant for family meals and the two lounges really suited the kids who made one “their own”. Wi-fi is a must these days and the coverage was excellent.
We thought it was excellent value for money, brilliant high quality accommodation in a fantastic part of the country.
What a lovely Christmas we've just had in Granville. There was ample space for the 5 of us including 2 sitting rooms and a spacious dining kitchen.
Beautifully decorated for the festive season, and ample glassware and crockery. A double oven and a generous hob made cooking the Christmas Dinner easy.
Well situated for the village and the many local walks, down a quiet road. Views to the surrounding hills from many windows.
Everything we could have wished for and more.
Beautiful house, set in a quiet location within easy walking distance of all the shops, cafes and restaurant that the lovely village of Ballater has to offer.
Wonderfully traditional family home with so much space. We enjoyed the open fires in both large lounges which are great places to relax after a day out walking the nearby hills - the owners leaving us a supply of logs and coals to enjoy on the first evening. The house was equipped to a high standard with everything we could possibly need and more. Large comfortable bedrooms upstairs. Great outside space with choice of areas to sit (and follow the sun). Very clean. We will definitely be back to stay at this house.
We are regulars to Ballater, usually staying at Craigendarroch, but due to mis-matched dates we found ourselves without accommodation at the very last minute. Due to a huge stroke of luck we were lucky enough to be able to book Granville as our replacement accommodation, and we could not have been more pleased with the outcome.
Granville is spacious (two gorgeous living rooms separated by the hallway, so perfect for using as an adult and children's living rooms). The bedrooms are also so spacious and the whole house has just has wonderful air of comfort and sophistication. So much so that we'd quite like to live there permanently!!
The house is extremely well equipped (much better than my own home!) and if you need it, you know you will find it there, even down to there being a barbecue, a clothes drying rack for over the radiators, trays, a washing line, copious amounts of crockery etc. (to name but a few). One cold evening we were able to enjoy the open fire, it was perfect.
The location is second to none. A very short stroll down to the high street; right on the doorstep of the golf course if you're keen on golf and an equally short stroll to the river and its gorgeous walkway.
Although familiar with Ballater, staying at Granville really gave us a completely different insight into Ballater as a town. We loved taking our dog down by the river every evening and sitting, taking in the gorgeous views.
We could not recommend Granville more highly, and we would be absolutely delighted if we were to have to stay there again!
